is it just me, or is the i-485 a confusing pain in the butt?

grrr, i hate this form. not just for the confusion, that's a given with any uscis form, but for the fact my wallet gets lightened by another $400! any enlightenment would sure be appreciated!

Dan I know a loanshark; they were advertising on here the other day. Otherwise, I can't help. But, maybe someone can chime in also with the costs associated with 'fiance visa' vs. 'spousal visa'. Total,...just for all the filing fees. Not talking airfare and all the variables. But, maybe it would be helpful to alot of folks if someone would type, if they know, a two column list of each.

"No hay tal cosa, como ' español perfecto '."

Where do we go from here?

Dan, I thought your wife was coming on an immigrant visa. If so, she doesn't need to file for AOS.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

ok, the answer has been found! i just got off the phone with uscis, since we went the straight i-130 route, and everything was done in colombia, and we got the visa, we do not have to file an adjustment of status (i-485), since her status since the issuance of the visa was that of legal permanent resident. as long as i had them on the phone, i asked about the pre-2 year anniversary interview, and she said that that all depended on what is on her green card. if it's done up as a 2 year, then we do the interview, if it's done up as a 10 year, then we're free and clear, no interview necessary. she said that we should get the card within 30 days of her arriving here. uff da! enough of these paperwork scares, i tell ya. but, at least they won't be getting another $400 out of me... lol
