IS IT EASY TO FIND A JOB IN THE UK?

I just moved to England one month ago approximately and I have realized that this is different from what I imagined. When I was in colombia I thought that my English was good but here English is very different from the one I speak, the accent is different and It is a little hard for me to speak with people here but i am doing my best, what i want to know is what is the best way tho get a job here??? I live in Swindon and it is not the same than if i lived in London. I dont care what kind of job it could be if it is a decent job. Sometimes i get nervous, and i prefer to be quiet then i weak up and say to myself that i came here 'cause i am brave and i have to survive here 'cause this world is not for weak people. If you can give me any information about how to get a job in the Uk please let me know.

Get out of Swindon, it is a sh*t hole!......

If you have all of your paperwork in order go to the local job centre and have a look or visit www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk

All the best.

i wouldnt say its easy.. and think it makes it worse that you living in swindon... London or another major city will have more jobs.. but specially london.. It is also about luck, i know some girls who have come from colombia and got decent jobs, whilst others havent. check out the website British Paisa said, sometimes its good.

Keep thinking positive.. this country can at times really depress you (been there done that).

London will be a lot easier because there are more jobs available, plus a large Colombian community spread around London.

Other than that its the job center, newspapers and friends.

Yeah London may be easier to get a job, but a well enough paid job to actually afford living in London? London it's too bloody expensive! Try around London, like in Berkshire. I assume if yo have some qualifications it would be easier.
Good luck, I will be in that possition very soon...

It depends on the kind of job you are looking for. Unfortunately, it is the case that many qualified foreign professionals end up doing jobs they are over-qualified for. There are loads of low-skilled jobs available in most places in the UK, and in Swindon it shouldn't be a problem. If you happen to be an IT professional Swindon could be an excellent location because there are various IT companies spread along the "M4 corridor" between London-Reading-Swindon. The only thing to bear in mind about moving to London is that it is a very large, expensive and stressful city. But the job prospects there are certainly good.

Meetin Good Colombians in London I have lived in London practically all my life yet I still consider myself a Colombian at heart and a true Caleńo when it comes to salsa. However, I found it hard to make good colol friends here.

In my opinion Colombians here are at an in between stage in our evolution. There are few professionals. Many that are finding their way and turning to crime, and of course a lot that are not keen on learning and continue with their cleaning jobs.

I would like to meet educated, smart Colombians that are honest and not bochincheros like we tend to be!lol.

Maybe we will have to wait a few more years until we make a stand and contribution to the community, doing something positive for us and where we live.

In case you think am some old guy by the way I am talking I am in fact only 23 and would like to meet more of my people at my level looking for a future.

I think is better to stick to london specially that you can find a bigger Colombian community there in case you feel homesick,Manchester is ok but I would not live north of England I think the sun never comes out there and it's rains all the time. You can try the local newspapers in Swindom too and the Job center.
