I lived my whole teenage life in Boston Medellin and recently went back after 9 years. Like most of Medellin it's a lot safer than it was a decade ago. There has been plenty of construction of small attractive apartment buildings around the area. It was always a quaint attractive area but has become even prettier with the development. As your wife probably recalls the neighborhood is close to el Centro and with all the new barrios farther up in the hills it has really become a desireable middle class neighborhood.
Sorry about the lack of pictures, you're just goona' have to check it out for yourselves. Don't worry, it's safe and just like it's preached throughout the forums, just use your common sense and awareness.

I lived in downtown Medellin and visited Boston many times to visit a friend who lived there. No problems ever. This was some years ago and I understand Medellin has only gotten better since. The windows of my apartment would rattle when bombs went off downtown, but I understand that kind of activity has decreased, if not disappeared entirely, with the demise of Pablo.

so it's by prado... undortunately i know prado too well...my son died in clinica del prado. umteen years ago.

that's down south and east of the couria in centro villanueva (sp)

it's an alright area...nothing special. prado is a bit better. but i'd--p[ersonally--rather live to the south, ie. poblado, envigado or sabaneta. just me.

Sorry to hear that, DW A friend of mine died suddenly, in a hospital, of an infection, in freakin' Connecticut, USA!
37 years old... sometimes these things that happen just seem so absurd.

BTW, I first came across Meher Baba in Seattle in 1969. Smiling face, no speech...pure energy, beautiful being!
