iPod Repair

Has anybody in the Medellin area found a repair location for iPods? My Nano bit the dust and it;s out of warranty.

There is an iStore (Authorized Apple Service Center) located in the San Fernando Plaza in Poblado. I took my iPod there and they replaced it with a new one because it was under warranty. They have also repaired my MacBook Pro, also under warranty. I'm not sure if they do repairs onsite but I bet they can direct you to someone if they don't.

Yes, I tried the reset (Menu, select) with no joy. I knew about the Apple store at San Fernando, but, I figured it would be expensive like everything else there. That may be my only alternative.

Have you looked in the Yellow Pages? There's gotta be one and repairing it is not that expensive. I accidentally dropped mine a few years ago and my husband ordered a new hard drive and replaced it, the total cost was only $25USD.

As a follow-up, I went to the Applle store and they looked at the iPod. The conclusion was that it was either a battery or logic board problem. They said there was nothing they could do because they don't have the parts in Colombia. The bottom line is I could send it to the US, but, the cost of repair isn't justifiable. It appears that Apple hasn't fully developed their support network here.

I wonder if a private repair shop would be able to. I find it impossible to believe that everyone who owns a broken iPod in Colombia can't get it fixed because they can't get the parts.

I use Sansa players. I got my gig for 25 bucks on sale, and it has an fm radio and plays videos.

I also have a Sansa but can't seem to figure out how to categorize my music. I've tried every which way and can't get it right. That's why the iTunes page is so much easier for rearranging everything, but I still prefer Sansa.
