I have recently purchased an apartment in Cartagena. This was over the 100,000 needed for an "Investor" visa. I currently have a Rentista visa and an opened bank account at CitiBank in Cartagena.
What advantages or disadvantages would come with the Investor Visa?
Someone said it costs 375.00, what would I gain?
And what about the taxes, would I pick up tax obligations to Colombia that I normally would not have with the Rentista visa?

Gator says on Mar 19, 2008, 09:11: This visa can by requested by a foreigner that invest not be less than $100,000 (one hundred thousand dollars) and it must be registered in the Bank of the Republic. This type of visa has the following characteristics: Multiple entrances, will expired if absence from the Colombian territory for a period superior to two years, and the resident has the obligation to register with D.A.S, and obtain a “Cedula de Extranjeria. This visa has no expiration. After five years you can, if you wish, apply for Colombian citizenship- I never did this be cause I saw no real advantage except being able to vote.
