Inversionistas tendrán que inscribir transacciones por compra de inmuebles y carros ante Banco de la República
El incumplimiento de la medida, que aplica tanto a nacionales como extranjeros, tendrá sanciones que pueden duplicar el valor del bien.


Mediante una cartilla, que ya se está distribuyendo a través de la Cancillería en los países donde Colombia tiene representaciones diplomáticas, la Superintendencia de Sociedades explica los pasos y registrosque se deben cumplir ante el Emisor (Departamento de Cambios Internacionales) directamente por el inversionista, su representante legal o, en ciertos casos, por su apoderado.

Sirven como intermediarios cambiarios exclusivamente bancos comerciales, bancos hipotecarios, corporaciones financieras, FEN, Bancóldex, Corporaciones de financiamiento comercial y casas de cambio.

Well, that's old news. Foreigners that buy real estate in Colombia must do that if they don't want to be taxed when taking the money out of the country.

Here's the little detail that confuses everybody even some long time realtors.

If it's a foreigner bringing money to Colombia they have to fill one form so that they can take that amount back without being taxed, if it's a colombian national then it's another form so they can legally invest the money brought from abroad in the country otherwise it could happen that some day the colombian IRS may consider the investment "money laundering" because it wasn't registered before Banco de la Republica.
