Yes the 800,000-1,700,000 a month is correct, but the real killer is having to work on Saturdays and late past 6pm on weekdays.
That axed it for me, very few people have a lot of free time in Colombia , so getting to know people and hang out, like here in the US, is actually more difficult in Colombia.
By Sunday, many women are so burnt out, they just rest on Sunday.
Life is good on Colombia only for a select few, overall, life is much more enjoyable in the US.

Started as the typical liberal viewpoint of how the U.S is the bad guy, but we still want your help...

I haven't done further digging into the Free Trade Agreement bet COL and US, but I suspect that Intellectual Property rights is definitely included. Doubtful that it will or even can be enforced in the developing world at this point.
