Interview Questions and a Visa (finally!)

After two long years, my wife had her interview at the US embassy in Bogota and, after much needless worrying on my part, was approved!! She will be here shortly!!

For those curious here are some of the questions which were asked of her...
(actually her email to me)

(we met on Yahoo)

Thanks for everyone's help and support and best wishes to all those who are still waiting.

Gracias Papi! We will have our consulate interview soon and we have come up with all sorts of questions we think they MIGHT have for us... Thats the most stressful part of this process. Its all paperwork until the Officer at the Consulate eyeballs you during the interview...

Congrats KK!!!

It took two years because, unfortunately, immigration services lost out paperwork two different times during the process. Once in california (the initial filing) and once in New Hampshire. Believe me I have the worst luck when it come to things like this. In any case we had to refile our paperwork and go to the end of the line lol. It was frustrating and a long process....but look at the bright side .. I got to visit Colombia a lot more than I would have if everything had gone well.

Was that at least for a CR-1 or did it take that long for a K-3?

My K1 (fiancee visa?) is being appproved at the National Visa Center now. They gave me an estimate of 6 monthes or more. Then I understand it gets forwarded to the US Colombian Embassy. Does anyone know how long that process is? Moving at a snails pace....... :(

Are you sure it is already at National Visa Center or is it at one of the USCIS Service Centers? When did you send in your petition? Has your I-129F been approved? The NVC usually only takes a few days to process and forward K-1 and K-3 cases.

I would recommend you visit VisaJourney.com if you haven't already. It is the best resource for information about spouse and family visas.
