Internet Service Providers in Cartagena

Hi

Can anybody recommend reputable ISP's (Internet Service Providers), along with the price for monthly service, in Cartagena?

I plan on purchasing Skype to facilitate my calls between the US and Colombia in August using my laptop and I will have to purchase a monthly plan soon.

Thanks a lot,

JWB

I use cable Internet I am currently in the US, and my paid bills are in my apartment in Cartagena. I think it cost around 60K per month or 600K for 12 months.

You can buy pre-paid Internet cards for dial-up use for around 10K for 8 hours. I used Enred in the past.

Depends what you want It really depends what you want as far as speed and where you are going to be living. Broad band is not widely available here and can be pricey to get a connection good enough for voice. Here are two price lists from costavision broadband: http://www.costavision.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=24&Itemid=90&lang=

dialup: http://www.costavision.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=46&Itemid=109&lang=

Also how long are you planing on staying, because they require contracts for anything besides prepaid.
Send me a message if you need any additional info or help.
Mike

re: "Skype" What is "Skype"? I am returning to Colombia soon for two months (not long enough for a contract of anything) and looking for a more affordable way of staying in touch with my family in the US than the prices at cyber cafes and those high-priced international cell phone tienditas (or Telecom). Thanks!

Did you try looking at www.skype.com??

Skype is voice over IP (VOIP) software that allows you to use a computer to make calls to a computer in the U.S. (if it also has Skype downloaded) for free or to a phone line in the U.S. for a cost.

Call cost is much less than typical phone charges (whether telecabin, pre-paid calling card, or celluar by minute) but much more than other VOIP options (although those require monthly fees).
