Internet access help in medellin and apartments

Hi,

While I am an american and have lived here in the US all my life I recently was in medellin with some friends of mine and one of them is planning on moving down there. So, I have a couple questions, I am in need of a couple things, I need to find an apartment, when I was there a couple months ago I stayed in Plobano and would like to find something in the same area, any good websites with apartments for rent there, or even a house if possible with pictures and/or info. Secondly, I need to know about internet access, I have heard that cable and DSL is available, I am looking for something with good upstream capability, anyone have links to specific websites from provider(s) so I can look at the plans?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Money69 This service is offered by EPM which is the municipal owned utility in Medellin and they areb the best at everything. They also offer DSL service with speeds up to 512K but that service is very pricey compared to their broadband service. Remember that TriplePlay is broadband and not DSL. Go to the website for El Colombiano (newpaper) for apartment rentals. I use DSL and Triple Play Plus for internet and VOIP telecommunications. It works fine for me.

I went ahead and made a short little summary of what I found out so far about internet options in medellin and would like to run it past you guys to get an idea on where I stand and get some input. I am in need of something with good upstream bandwidth.

www.internet.telecom.com.com - seems to have the best upstream, 512k up but its like COP$500,000 a month.

www.tripleplay.com.co-Cable, seems good for the price, upstream is limited to 256k.

www.cable.net.com.co-Available in medellin? Has good upload, but i dont know how much it costs.

www.etb.com.co-Doesnt specificlly list the upstream bandwidth, doesnt really say price either, available in medellin?

www.telefonica.com.co-Doesnt list price or packages from what I can see, available in medellin?

Anyone have any ideas on what it would cost to get maybe a 768/768 frame relay or T-1 in medellin? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks
