I've had lulo juice .... I've had lulo juice - it is one of the most common beverages offered when you visit a Colombian household, along with "tomate de arbol" juice (Cyphomandra betacea).

I am drinking a glass of jugo de lulo right now berriondo, it is fantastic. I can buy the fruit pulp as well as many other Colombian fruit pulps locally here in Orlando. I am a big believer in fruit and fruit juices and drink at least a litre of juice each day. Today's juice is lulo, yesterday's was mango, tomorrow will be mandarina, and of course we have plenty of orange juice which is local.

I had jugo de tomate de arbol both in Bogotá and Cartagena, in Bogotá it was a dark redish purple colour and on the coast it was orangish. I preferred the taste of the juice in Bogotá. I am curious as to why the different colour and flavour?
