I'm an all American girl: outgoing, ambitious, sometimes aggressive (when it comes to what I want). People have said I'm attractive & I do have Italian roots. Last summer I met an amazing Colombian exchange student at my college & we were instantly attracted to each other, but I had a boyfriend at the time. Now I've dumped my boyfriend, can't stop thinking about him & am wondering how to start a relationship with him... he's since moved back to Colombia.
So I'm asking, what exactly are the gender dating rules in Colombia & how are they different from the US? Here, I would have no problem asking him out & flying to see him (being the pursuer) because I know he's interested. But my Colombian friend says men are supposed to do the pursuing.
Any suggestions?

Tried to call him in Colombia from the states once & his parents seemed to be severely confused (now I think his dad hates me!). Plus you definately say Daniel differently in Spanish than you do in English, LOL. Currently trying to pick up as much Spanish as possible. :-)

Mariangela says on Dec 11, 2004, 18:19: It's fine "Puedo hablar" is fine. It is actually the most common way to say it. It is more informal. You were not wrong. Mariángela 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
