Ingrid's Husband

What's the deal with Ingrid and her husband. If you watched everything on TV today, she completely ignored him. She would always be with her mom and never with him. In everything she said, she would thank a lot of people but never mentioned his name. She completely blew him off. What's going on???

Yeah, I was wondering that too - I saw one thing that said he was her ex esposo, but on the bottom headline on the exact same screen it said esposo...

I know she has a french ex husband, but it made me wonder about the Colombian one and I noticed the exact same thing about her basically ignoring him and never mentioning his name.

Well, Clara Rojas, kidnapped with Ingrid, had a relationship with some member of the FARC and has a child from it. Ingrid? The gringos? Who knows......

Ingrid, says she still wants to be president of Colombia. Six years in captivity and this is still on her mind the day she is released. Ambition baby!

She did seem to ignore her husband. I also thought that she had too much to say on the day she was released....didn't you? Funny, the gringos were rushed off elsewhere. State Department didn't want them on Colombian news? Hide the Washington agenda. Their, the gringo captives, Spanish has to be perfect after six years don't you think? Why didn't they talk to the press like Ingrid? Yup!

It's funny how people see what they want to see. I watched the video at La Semana site and she was NOT ignoring her husband. She was not dedicating him the same attention as to her Mum but she was hugging him, caressing his face, he was all the time right there, next to her, a little in the background.

From what I've read they were not getting along and were considering a divorce before she was kidnapped. I also thought she was more affectionate with her mom than her husband but they have a history there. If you're close to getting a divorce and then spend 6 years apart, the marriage is long dead and buried. She at least acknowledged him and was civil towards him.

Sloopskipper,

The picture you posted was she scene when she first saw him. If you were to watch the whole coverage you'd notice that she completely ignored him the rest of the time. Yet she would hug & kiss many other people (who I don't know who they were). She never hugged him nor never kissed him. He was completely ignored after this one photo that you posted. It was sad because he looked like a little puppy dog who was very excited, standing in the background, but getting no attention. Anybody who watched the whole event will know exactly what I'm referring to.

DC is right. She didn't even mention his name, but stated that she "adored" her French ex-husband. I don't think that makes her a cold bitch. If he really was messing around on her while she was held captive in the jungle, she has every right to be upset. Similarly, if their marriage was in shambles before she was captured, it is perfectly understandable that she might not be that excited to see him. Personally, I found it odd when I saw it and so I asked a few people. That's all.

Hello Peter.

I think that this kind of post concerning the private life of people has nothing to do in PBH and should be deleted.
It cannot be considered as freedom of expression.

==========
Hans, I suggest you read up on what freedom of expression really is...
this is a thread about Colombia...Ingrid is Colombian therefore it justifies the members of this board to discuss whatever they want on her on colombia, on whatever they please...this isn't a communist board- oh wait...they don't know what freedom of expression is...

Freedom of expression= great thing!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_expression

"Freedom of speech is being able to speak freely without censorship. The right to freedom of speech is guaranteed under international law through numerous human-rights instruments, notably under Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, although implementation remains lacking in many countries. The synonymous term freedom of expression is sometimes preferred, since the right is not confined to verbal speech but is understood to protect any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used."
