Ingrid to leave Colombia within the next few minutes

Ingrid is high tailing the hell outta the safe cultural mecca known as Bogota and heading straight to France.
I understand most Colombianas love for all that is NOT Colombia but dammnnnn a little consideration por la patria, what harm is it gonna do if she stays only a couple more days at least.

El Tiempo says they are now going to the French embassy. The plane might be refueling because the foreign affairs minister is in the plane and might go back soon, and anyway, the plane will probably go back, even if Ingrid doesn't, and it needs fuel for that.
But who knows, they might start arguing medical reasons or something to take her there.
And maybe in France she will feel more free to speak all the "truth", should there be anything she doesn't say in Colombia for security reasons.

Just to play devil's advocate...

And what is heroic or intelligent about being a military contractor in a dangerous country taking part in controversial operations that have historically been proven to fail in curbing the overall level of narcotics that enter the US? These "dumb asses" put themselves in a position to be kidnapped or killed for a drug policy that is absolutely useless. A drug policy that most Colombians do not support (aerial fumigation).

Before you jump down my throat, I would not use the term dumb ass to describe any of them. I just lifted that term from the bad rapper/actor that posted above in order to demonstrate that it's just a bit tasteless. In addition, while I disagree with their rational for being in Colombia and their efforts in Colombia, I do in deed wish that they had never spent a day in captivity and I am extremely happy that they are now free (If I could have placed this last sentence in bold letters I would have).

Ingrid was chasing votes six years ago. Obviously. She is a politician! That's what they do and should be considered normal. She wanted to show solidarity with the people who live on the other side of the mountains and who have to deal with the FARC and others every day.

I think she could be a strong force to end the conflict if she becomes president. She knows a lot about the FARC now. And as a symbol, there's no one who can match her. I just hope she remains safe. I can imagine them trying to harm her in the future.

Plato: I am as happy as can be right now with the news and I hope that this is just another step towards a safer and more stable Colombia. I may not be an Uribista, but I wholeheartedly applaud both Uribe and the Colombian forces for their AMAZING accomplishment. And though I am not Colombian, let me say that (despite whatever problems there have been in the past with certain individuals or nefarious groups) Colombians have always had many reasons for taking great pride in their nationality.

p.s. Last night I drank my last bottle of Nectar Azul to celebrate in spirit with all of my friends in Colombia.

I don't have a problem with her going to france right away, but the fact that she is doing so is also the reason why she will never become president of Colombia. The Colombian people, while having sympathy for her, are not all that impressed with her judgement, but more importantly, they doubt where her true, or maybe better said, her ultimate, loyalties now lie.

i wish her luck in what ever she decided to do, being 6 year in a jungle was not easy, and at least she didn't come out like the other kissing the guerrilleros good bye of feeling sympathy for them, to me she does not look arrogant contrary she looks very grateful, France did a lot for her too at least kept her in th spotlight so that is why she should go and say thanks you.
Yesterday i was watching France24 A TV NEWS CHANNEL and all day the news was about her, the kidnappers, the Americans and Colombia in overall, they did i think said very good things about Uribe.

she will return soon and i think stronger.

This woman isn't special. She thinks she is, and was able to convince others that she is, because she's European. Europeans are quite sure they are the saintliest, most progressive people in the world; no one is more liberal, more interested in ethno-native tribal art and customs than the average European citizen, who can talk you under the table in a dozen languages, including the singsongiest girlie English you've ever heard. They're all martyrs for worldwide human rights and la la la, the old saw from Geneva. Her celebrity got an enormous shot in the main by being kidnapped, and now gets another by release in a "perfect"ly timed operation carried out precisely to bolster the reputation of a) Uribe's government and the military and b) John McPain. And this all in the name of "liberty" -- that's the State's idea of liberty, don't you see: a scowling brown dude in bulletproof uniform, armed with a shotgun, on every street corner waiting to put you down should you look at him the wrong way. Betancourt's free, but the state of society grows more steadily militarized.

Come on rubito, you know exactly why she is with Sarkozy. Politics allows ugly people to be famous. And fame and power allows them to attract women who are interested in such things.

Does anyone have proof that she has used cocaine or heroin? Or did she just write a song that mentions drugs? If you're basing all of these claims on song lyrics, you might as well believe in the Purple People Eater...Or maybe you believe that Justin Timberlake actually does wrap his dick up in a box as a gift to his girlfriends...

i think going to France was the best thing she could have done, she can relax there with her kids, going through an ordeal like she went she needs time to think and recover not just physically but mentally, we don't know what scar have been left with the kidnapping.

when my brother in law was released we though everything was going to be alright, but no, he needed help afterwards and still does he's still suffering for that kidnapping and he only was kidnapped for 15months imaging Ingrid. she seem a very strong woman! good for her and although i did blamed her for going to El caguan without listening to the government warnings, i do admire her now and I wish her well...... i am so glad this over for her :))))
