Taxi's are a bitch to get. If you can even get one. Check out the light show up the Cali river. It is really something great.

Last year at the cabalgata something like 7 horses died, I believe. 2 were stabbed, whilst the others died of exhaustion, probably from carrying fat, drunken traketos and their silicon-inflated women all around Cali. A female rider was also shot dead.

If you read Spanish, see this article:

or check out the photo in this article:

The cabalgata is pathetic, feudal and cruel. I love horses and horse-riding, but I'd never think to participate in this circus.

The cabalgata in itself is none of those things, but a lot of people that participate in it nowadays are pieces of shit like you described above and have ruined it.

Correction. I've just found out that in the cabalgata last year
8 horses were stabbed,
1 died of toxic poisoning from foam sprayed in its eyes, and
29 went missing because of their owners (i.e. they got drunk and lost their horses).

Now tell me that's not cruel and pathetic.

As for feudal, you don't think that the city's rich parading on horseback in front of the "plebs" whilst isn't a tad medieval? The only thing missing is a dancing bear.
