Info Sobre Cali

Hey Guys, I am traveling to Cali to meet a friend. I have experience in Bogota, Cartagena, Pereria and other parts de Colombia, but nerver Cali. My friend lives in Zona Sur Oriente (sp)....she says it is not a very safe area, entonces, any advice on where to stay and how to travel will be appreciated. Also, she says there is a bus from Bogota.....I hate the freakin Bus...but if it is not to long a ride then maybe I will proceed. Any advice is helpful ..thanks..all..R

Mi novia is from Cali in Unión de Vivienda Popular! She lives near Calle 40 where pass by several bus routes, so it is not very dangerous, but after Calle 40 people say that it is too bad. Do not walk late at night and worse if a foreigner. ( I translated her statements.)

I grew up in Cali and lived there for about 18 years. SurOriente is ok just have to be careful at night and take taxis that you have called first. My dad has a hotel by the Central Bus Station. Its called Hotel Colombia. Check it out on the hotel listings for Cali.
