In Medellin Hotel Las Lomas

Las Lomas is a solid hotel. It is way out in Rio Negro. There is a great restaraunt within one block walking distance called Asados Exquisitos. It is about a 30 minute ride to anything in Medellin and therefore may or may not be a good choice depending on your plans.

I can only assume that you have some connection with Medellin so I do not need to explain the location issues? Let me know if that is not accurate and I can explain the pluses and minuses of Rio.

The hotel, though, overall is solid. They have animals like peacocks walking around outside - and if safety is a concern then that is definitely a safe spot. I mean it is in Rio and ten minutes from the airport. Hotel has a jacuzzi and a good breakfast. Rooms are a little on the smaller side.

There is also a good spot for horse back riding down the street.

If you go promise me one thing. You will get a plate of Bandeja Paisa at Asado Exquisitos. You then can thank me for that advice later. Best Bandeja in town better than Mondongos.

the two gals that run the horse riding facility are carmensa and alahandra. i actually prefer the food about 200 yds up the street (st elena route) at estadero encanto.

as for las lomas, as benjamin said, it's fine...it's to hell and gone from medallo. might want to rethink the program if your plans are to be in medellin
