In Medallo, but thinking of taking a trip to Pereira today....

So, I'm been here in Medallo since last Thursday, and had an AWESOME time in Parques Lleras, Mangos, etc... but today it's Monday, and it's pretty borring here. I was thinking of going to Pereira today, and stay until Wednesday. Does anyone know if people in Piereira go out today and tomorrow evenings? I'd like to stay in the Zona Rosa area there, so if anyone can recommend a nice hotel there, near the action, that would be great.

Thanks!

There will be even less to do in Pereira/Zona Cefatera in terms of nightlife. My recommendation: Stay in Medellin and go do the touristy stuff -- ride the metrocables, go to the Botero Museum, the Piez Descalzos Park, the Explora Park, the botanical gardens, or take a day trip to El Penol or Santafe de Antioquia(both very near Medellin). There´s a ton to do and see in Medellin besides the nightlife.

Naaaa, after spending your time in Parques Lleras, Mangos, etc... you're ready for Fase Dos and San Diego show for some action.

Thanks for that advice. I think I'm going to El Penol. My buddy back in the states said it was nice... :-)

But I can't wait until "Juviernes" (Jueves y viernes).

Thanks all!

Loads of nightlife around Laureles in the beginning of the week............

And if you are so inclined, there are plenty of brothels, hooker houses and gay bars. I don't know the actual addresses..........but you could ask Robi.

Raaay,

Where is Laurels? Is that all I have to tell a taxi driver, and I'll be taken there? Is it in El Pbolado, ? Envigado? ??

Actually monday night is pretty boring even in laureles. Id say just tour the city today. At night try la 33 early evening and then head back to el lleras. if you have company you can go to las palmas.

there is a tourbus that leaves from parque poblado twice a day on the "cicuito turistico" (tourist circuit). it will take you by many highlights in the city including mall san diego, parque bolivar, plaza botero, parque de los deseos, undidad deportiva, parque de los pies descalzos, cerro nutibara and the zoo.

it leaves every day at 9:00 and 1:00.

the fee is 12 or 15k

Try ¨La 70¨or ¨La 33¨--both are major streets in the Laureles neighborhood which feature plenty of bars/cafes/clubs. La 33 is slightly more upscale, while La 70 is more salsa music and traditional taverns. LA 70 will probably be a bit livelier.

Who would want to go to Medellin or Burungotà for vacation? Cachacos spend top money to go to vacation to the coast every year.

If you want to go to vacation, you go to Barranquilla or SM, but you won't get any tronco de bollo there, hence gringos go to Medellin for vacation.

Paleo,

blakester." But where will I be able to dance and meet girls tonight (and not pre-pagos)? "

You're kiddin ...right..?? This is Medellin.......The chances of you meeting " girls " that are not prepagos is non-existent. Do you really think that the " girls " you met in Park Lleras and Mango's are not hookers ?

Forget all that touristy shit. El Penol is a big rock. Park Botero is a place with a couple of fat statues. The metro cable gives you a great view of places you would'nt want to go near.

Laureles..........loads of brothels.......Thats where all the nice girls you met in Parl Lleras and Mango's work.

Robi can fill you in on the addresses.

One is just in front of Ray's shop en la 33.
He always crosses the road there. His excuse is that he goes out to take the dog. So the poor dog is condemned to wait for Ray in the hall of the brothel (it usually just takes a couple of minutes, anyway).

The poor dog got so used to crossing the road, that once tried to cross the 33 by himself and got hit by a car.

It is no reflection on the girls here.
