In Celebration of Colombian Scientists, Men and Women, Working Together

Quiero destacar, y celebrar, y apreciar, el trabajo colaborativo de científicos colombianos, hombres y mujeres, que trabajan diariamente en todas partes del país por el bienestar de la humanidad entera y rara vez aparece su trabajo en los noticieros.

I want to celebrate the Colombian scientists who work in teams, men and women together in all parts of Colombia, to advance knowledge for the benefit of all humanity... whose work is too infrequently recognized and publicized.

For example, Zonia Yuby Sabogal, Maria Antonia Rincón and José Dario Mogollón of the Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario, Av. El Dorado No. 42-42, in Bogotá, have recently published their research on the ability to discriminate between different classical Swine fever virus (CSFV) isolates as a prerequisite for identifying the possible origin of an outbreak.

Phylogenetic analysis of recent isolates of classical swine fever virus from Colombia. Virus Research. Jan2006, Vol. 115 Issue 1, p99-103

Good to hear from you, G5... In my opinion no one can fill the shoes of the great ColombianoX. From time to time I do a little bit, in his memory.

I heard that Duranguense, a Chicago-based genre of Latin music, has taken the music industry by surprise and is all the rage in Chicago. Not my kind of music that Durango "norteño" music, but the Mexicans love it.plátano

Who is Cx?? Oh what a shame!! Well Platano, I am just popping in. And it is certainly nice to pop in when you are around. I'm OK. I have been involved in so many different things, I just have not had much time for visiting PBH. But, I really hope all is well with you....

And jalf12......
I notice that you are a recent arrival here, so you would not know ColombianoX. He departed (decided not to participate) us, some time back but his legend lives on. May I suggest you Google his name on this site and I am certain you will get a firm grasp of who he is, and what he stood for. When I arrived here over a year ago, we had our "run ins", but we quickly resolved our differences. Interestingly enough, our fundimental views remained somewhat different, but we learned to compromise on issues as we realized that our frienship was stronger than, and more important if I may add, than our philosophical differences.....
