IMUS pots and pans

I was just at Linens -n- Things, a popular store in the US for housewares, and happened to notice they carry a range of IMUSA cookware from Colombia. The non-stick pots with glass lids as well as the less expensive but very expansive cast aluminium ones.

IMUSA Products I see them in nearly all the latino grocery/speciality shops here in St. Louis. When I first read the thread title, I thought you were posting about Don Imus!

It's ironic here in NYC you see IMUSA shit in all the dollar stores in the ghetto. In Bogota IMUSA has their own stores and it's yuppieville in there.

Many people I know here (including my own parents) don't trust aluminum cookware, they believe the aluminum contaminates the food and gives you Alzheimers or something.

Anybody here knowledgable enough to know whether aluminum cookware is a good choice for cooking?

I don't trust aluminium cookware myself Rubi, unless it is the hard anodized stuff (dark coloured). I don't even use a aluminium moka pot even though they make better coffee than the stainless steel jobs. Also be care of what's in the stuff you slather under your armpits, it is usually full of aluminium and would be more likely to be absorbed quickly into the system.

Problem is I would pong to high heaven here in Florida, so should I slowly kill myself with aluminium or kill those I love with my BO. I am a gallant sort, so I would rather take the heroes way out and slowly do myself in.
