I never got any immunizations. Drank the water too which is not something I do in Mexico.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

Where are you going? It all depends on where you're going. For example, if you're just going to Bogota there's no need for Yellow Fever.

If you're going to the Amazon or other low-lying regions where there's a lot of tropical disease you should really consult the CDC website and probably talk to a travel doctor.

Immunisations The ones I listed were the ones I was given, but then, I was going to live in Colombia for a few years and travel all around the place. It was also useful for me as I have been travelling a lot since in South America, and if you like travelling, Yellow Fever lasts for 10 years and so do some of the others when topped up, like Hep B, which is a very important immunisation to have, generally.

Mr Hollywood's right - I've given you a general idea of what you should expect your doctor to give you, but you really should consult your doctor, and well before your departure date too.

Hunter % Mr Hollywood are Correct-make sure you have those and I would not worry about yellow fever or malaria unless you plan on being below say 4000 ft. Make SURE to check the CDC web site and allow sufficient time for the immunization to become effective.

These phrases may help:

"Prefiero creer que mi infectó un mosquito."
I prefer to believe I was infected by a mosquito.

"Todo fucicionaba bien cuando me salí de Miami."
Everyutrhing was wprking fine when I left Miami.

"¡Aldeomino con su juramento! Tengo bichos adentro que necesitan ser matados."
Damn you oath! I've got things inside me that need to bekilled.

Last, but most important:

"Si tiene la medicina, tengo el plata."
If you've got the medicine, I've got the money.

Stay safe-get the shots if you feel uncomfortable.

...get the shots ShazCas listed... you probably won't need them, but if you do, and you didn't get them, then you'd wished you had. If your in a place where you can get them for a reasonable amount of money, than do it.

It sucks having second thoughts when you have yellow fevor...

If you go from Australia I don't know where you're from, but if you go from Australia you have to have the Yellow Fever injection because they ask to see the certificate if you are coming back from South America or Africa when you go through customs.

Good luck :)
