Columbia You would have to contact the Canadian Embassy for that one, below is a British Columbia site:

Good luck

It irritates me too, however some countries do spell it Columbia, remember we posters come from many countries to this forum.

Yes you're right and it's an easy thing for Canadians mix up on anyway because of British Columbia.

Don't Bother... contacting the "Canadian Embassy" for that one, as Iain suggested. That would have nothing to do with you obtaining an immigration visa to Colombia.

You need to contact the Colombian embassy or Colombianb consulate in Canada to begin the process.

Not that easy to get-several different types like marrage to a colombian citizen, pensioner, investment, and several others. If you meet these requirements and remain in Colombian for five years you can apply for residence.

Aye... ...and contacting the "Col U mbian Embassy" won't get you one either because a "Col U mbian Embassy" doesn't exist.

Really why is so hard for some of you to spell the country correctly?
Not being funny but it does amaze me the # of N Americans (no offense to the ones who can) that come on here and just can't spell the country correctly.

It actually irritates the hell out of me too I'm sure it irritates the hell out of some Colombians when some dumb ass foreigners come here and not even being able to spell their country's name correctly. FFS if you come here claiming you want to move there etc at least get the spelling correct of the country you claim you want to move to.

Grammatically speaking... I believe it is grammatically correct to spell Columbia when writing in English, as it is to write America v/s América if you were writing in Spanish, as it is also correct en español no capitalizar los nombres de las idiomas, los dias o los meses lo cual es incorrecto in English be that day Monday or Friday.

It would also be correct to contiue this post under the "Hills out of moles" thread.

i thought you knew more than the embassy...that, of course, is why i come to PBH for all my information. i mean, who would think to ask an embassy something regarding immigration? me? not a chance. i just come over here and ask ya'll.

Canadians spelling Colombia, and a question about golf Hi everyone,

This is my first posting and I find it hilarious that it is on this subject! The first time I ever spelled Colombia, I used a 'u' and promptly got corrected by a Colombian friend. I have since found that most Canadians use the incorrect spelling, and need to be told...and these are highly educated people as well, not a bunch of morons. I hope we are allowed to make the mistake once. Twice is pretty bad.

Anyways, I have been to Bogota twice this year and love it. It is an intoxicating place. Is it easy to rent an apartment? Somewhere near the Andino centre?

Finally, I have a question about golf...can anyone recommend a good public golf course? Seems to me that most courses are private. Thanks.
