I'm Scared!

This brutal third world country, Colombia, with so many posters here warning about Americans coming there.

This "board" is so full of hate and warnings of bad things happening to all who come to Colombia.

I am scared!

I am colombian born, have been a contributor for over 2 years. I'm far from being a scare monger, this is probably the first time I ever write a post warning people about a danger and I am only doing so because it happened to a very close friend. I am not warning anybody not to visit my beautiful country, all I am saying is keep your wits about you.

There is no need to be scared to come here.............some people here go over the top with their warnings to people.........usally that is because, once in a blue moon something happens to a tourist here..............invaribly whatever happened them could have been avoided by applying even a minimum of common sense...................hence the constant debate here on PBH............apply a bit of f**kin sense and you will be fine............more shit happens to tourists in London, Rome and Paris than happens here...................probably one of the reasons for that is because tourists tend to be more on their guard here......

Whether it Montreal New York or Paris etc. The place is filled with tourists with
money. Its like running into a the same
crowd over and over. They come from
their home towns and make fools of them
selves and throw their money around..
Bogota doesn't have that. The climate is gloomy for most part and there is no beach. You really have a purpose to go to
Bogota.

I don't see many tourists in Montreal. Since we have so many races here, we can never really tell who is and isn't a tourist anyway i guess.

70 degrees during the day, 50 at night. 75% of the time cloudy, rain occasionally. Get to the embassy an hour before the scheduled time - which will probably be 7am. You guys will be leaving the embassy by 11am.
