I just wanted to leave a little post about how much of a wonderful time I¨m having here. I was scared to come, all the images I see on tv made me very nervous etc you´ve all heard it before. But I am here now, and to anyone wondering what it´s like all I have to say is that it´s really not a big deal at all. I´m in the Zona Rosa. I met a very sweet girl on'line before I came here, and she´s been so wonderful to me and so has her family. They have taken me out all over the place, the dad (after a full blown interview about my future goals) even invited me to sleep in their place. Who would do that in Canada...
In a certain part of Bogota they close down the streets for bikes and pedestrians, and that´s where we´re going now. It´s so great. We went to the best steak house in a little town out of bogota called chias last night. Great food and very ambient.
To anyone thinking of coming, come. The people are nice and belive it or not...it´s very modern in bogata. The second you hit a bad area, you can tell. If weird or agresive people approch you just stay calm, don´t act scared. Say no, and keep moving. Smiling at these people always helps as they seem to appreciate a little respect...(don´t we all).
And a little note to the guy who posted a few months ago that the girls are all fat and ugly. Dude, where in bogota where you. All I can say is from the second I got off the plane all i´ve seen is beautifull women everywhere.
If anyone is still unconvinced about how secure you can feel here, let me know and I can give you more examples of how you really get the feeling people around here do care about each other, and really want you to have a safe trip. As for me, I´m off with Luisa to enjoy the semi sunny day..
kisses to eveyone
