OK...so I just went to the website where they post the interviews for the following month and Felipe (my fiance) has his interview scheduled for 2/14/2006 at 7am.
How EXCITED am I?
Anyway, so once we got past the excitement we got nervous because he still never received his Packet3.
So if you don't mind, I would like to go over what I believe are the steps that we need to do now.
Crazy, I'm gonna need your help with this one. :)
I need to fill-out the I-134 and get the supporting documents (pay stubs, letter from employer and tax return information) get that notorized and mail that (FedEx or UPS) to him asap along with all the documents that I have sent immigration since day one (129F) and any copies of pictures or plane tickets or I guess just everything so that he has everything that he is going to need just in case they ask him.
He should get something in the mail stating where he needs to go for his medical exam, right? (Which makes me nervous because like I said before he never got his Packet3 so what if he doesn't get this). Anyway, the medical exam costs $100.
My questions are: How much is the Visa? When will he get it if we are approved. I've read conflicting information that it will cost $325 for the Visa or $100. And he will either get the visa that same day or the next, and then I have also read that he will get it in the mail. Any thoughts?
On another note, I really just want to thank all of you for all the advice and suggestions that you have given to me. Hopefully, everything will go well on Valentine's Day and he will be here within the next month or so.

rjstuff says on Jan 23, 2006, 17:53: you have some confusion - the medical exam and the lab work alltogether is about $235 and the visa fee is another $100 (these are 6 month old rates from my fiance's trip); additionally you pay for any vacinations that you may need - can be another couple hundred dollars depending on what all you need. Total cost of trip (for my fiance) was $1000 including airfare (from Barranquilla), hotel - La Flor's, and other expenses. Good luck

silviat says on Jan 23, 2006, 18:53: he needs to get a packet 4 Tell him to buy one pin (I think it needs to be done in Banco Colpatria) so he can schedule an appointment to pick up the packet 4 himself... that way he won't be depending on if it ever arrives... Thought that means he wil have to travel to bogota.

utopiacowboy says on Jan 27, 2006, 13:36: Complain to your senators and congressmen about not receiving the packets from the embassy and that you had to buy a pin to get them. Nice little money making racket they've got going there. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
