Illegal immigration: Are we just too stupid to solve it?

"Although the invasion of the United States by Mexico has been much less violent than the invasion of Europe by the Mongol hordes, it should not be considered any less significant. There are at least 12 million people who have swept across our southern border in the past 20 years, and now they are asking the government of the United States to surrender to them."

“Our numbers are too great for you, they say. “Resistance is futile.

expatriate I somewhat agree with you. I dont see the Russians or Chinese or radical muslims taking over this country. I think in their favorite dreams they would love to conquer us but i dont see it happening.
What i do see in the USA is an implosion taking place. Outside forces are assisting in this implosion and by outside forces i mean the countries i just named and others such as Chavez, Castro and a whole host of others who would like to see us crash and burn.
With that being said the real problem is the inside of America and other free countries such as Colombia, England, France, and others. The USA and other free countries are collapsing within through every avenue such as the music, the movies, the media, polititions, far left wingers, greenpeace, al gore, michael moore, sean pean, bill mahr, rosie odonnel, and the list goes on. our lack of border control, the illegals keep piling into this country no one does anything about it, the hospitals and schools are filling up, the crime is going up and the polititions sit on their hands our wild spending lieing cheating phoney polititions , our over taxing, our abuse of our own people, gun control to take our weapons away so we cant protect ourselves, outrageous insurance fees, medical fees and every other fee.
the rich getting richer the poor getting poorer and the middle class working their asses off, paying more and getting less. our troops fighting for freedom while the left wing of america puts them down and the democrats trying to cut off the troops funding.
I think america and freedom loving countries are in trouble, we are imploding slowly but surely.
Do i see rebellion and street fighting, maybe but i doubt it, i see a slow implosion in the making as we all sit by and watch it happening.

These predictions of doom and gloom for the U.S. are hilarious. I live in Miami, a very diverse city, and see little racial strife (certainly less than in the sixties). The people coming from other countries want to be part of the system, albeit, in their way. They are not coming here to alter the fundamentals of our society. Very few people don't want to learn English. It is very difficult. For people who don't like change, I am sure it is disconcerting to see the racial fabric of the U.S change.

Depression? The economy has never been better. The standard of living for the average American is incredibly high.

As for Bush, he is doing a great job. Our stength as a nation nor his effectiveness should be judged by how liberals in other countries view us.

As for visiting Colombia, Bush was very well received. I go to Colombia frequently and the Colombians are pro-American and they were glad to see him. Many in other countries are very sensitive and jealous about our success and they couch that jealousy by being critical of the U.S. no matter what we do.

Real simple solution: Enforce existing law, with deportations for first time offenders. Secure the borders to stop the flow and force all to use the legal process of immigration. Tighten Current immigration laws, such as deportation is required even if you get knocked up and pop out a puppy here on US soil: your kid can stay, but Adios MFr! impose high fees/taxes on $$ sent to Mexico to help pay for enforcement....make the violators do their jail time before deportation, then AMF! and for every illegal kicked out, let a legal law-abiding one in...its amazing to watch the legal immigrants at the swearing in ceremonies for their citizenship, and how full of pride they are to be US citizens.....then, talk to some illegal who has nothing but contempt for the US...what a joke...

Its been under construction for 10 years now! Look at who is controlling the Venders, Construction. Miami is he Poorest Largest US City as far as wage disparity to housing costs. Miami is loaded with undocumented Aliens(illegal). Bush(W and Jeb) along with some Dems, doesn't want rein them in as he views them as potential Future Republican Voters. With all these Illegals working off the Tax Rolls(below the table)it drives the wages down for honest workers who compete with these illegals. Illegals don't bother with Any Licenses like occupational, professional, pay workman's comp ect. How can someone conducting business in a legal manner compete against these folks? They can't and in the end the Legal's workers wage drops! Not to mention, when the issue of shoddy work comes up try and get your botched job repaired! Hasta la vista go your dollars! Legal Orderly Documeneted Immigration is what made our Country great, Illegal Immigration is what will destroy it!

The U.S. has taken in millions of Mexicans. About 10 percent of all Mexicans live here. However, they are still overly critical of our policies. Instead of thanking us, they have the nerve to demand (not ask) for more. Now they want a Marshall type program. Their new plan is that we must send them billions of dollars or they will continue to send more immigrants. We could get manual labor from anywhere, we don't need them. They always tell us what we need to do for them, but never what they could do for us.

I want more immigration (and we need more people to grow the economy), but legal not illegal, and more diversity. It is time for more Colombians and Peruvians and less Mexicans. Let's reward the Colombians for being pro-U.S. and give them more consideration in immigration.

Finally, the Cubans are like the Mexicans. They only come here for the money. They could go the Haiti or the Dominican Republic or even Mexico and be just as "free".

Despite the above, illegal immigration is not going to ruin the United States. It is not a good thing, but the country is strong enough to handle it.

Wow Rubito, finally a point I agree with. My wife's grandfather was a Cuban immigrant to Colombia.

Expatriate, GW never denied his alcoholism. He admitted he was a recovering alcoholic and hasn't had a drink for a long time - like 20 years ... I can't remember the exact date. He is alleged to have snorted a lot of coke in his youth. If true, so what? It is well documented that Gore was a pothead and Clinton had a lot of ties to cocaine smuggling while the Governor of Arkansas. And I am sure slick Willy really didn't inhale.

Expatriate: I love your theory that the World Trade Center would not have been attacked if GW wasn't in the White House. Hmmm, I thought Clinton was in the White House for the first bombing. And GW was President for less than a year before the World Trade Center was attacked the second time, by people who had been planning the attack for years.

And GW stole the election? You must live on the planet Voltare if you truly believe that crap. Remember, they recounted the ballots how many times before the issue was finally put to rest? Every time they recounted the ballots, the count was more in favor of Bush. Before you go crazy defending your pathetic argument by attacking me, I aint' a big Bush fan and wish we had a different President actually.

"Depleted uranium?" Assuming you are talking about the A-10 plane's main gun ammunition, they were developed long before Bush was the President. Try the Carter administration or before. Anyway, the bullets contain that substance, because it melts through any armour. If the bullets caused any harm other than to the enemy running and getting liquidated, don't you think it would make mainstream news? CNN, BBC, etc would be on that story like a chicken on a June-bug. I know guys who have worked with those planes for decades and have not had any ill effects. Depleted uranium causing harm, in reference to the spent ammunition, is urban legend and blatant propaganda.

I personally think, as many Floridians believe also, that no preference should be given to any one group as is given to the Cubans. If we are to give a preference to people fleeing communism, then why aren't we giving Preference to the Chinese fleeing communism??? Go into the Jails and a Detention center like Krome and they are jammed full of Illegals who cost the taxpayers a bundle to maintain. Krome is packed full of Cubans, many of them Mariels who are Felons. Their kind have ruined Miami,,,BTW, there is no such thing as an Illegal Immigrant, Immigrants have status in the USA while those who don't are termed illegal Aliens. These Cuban Felons will never be eligble for US Citizenship due to the fact they are Felons, this alone excludes them US citizenship. If we had a deportation accord with Cuba we could ship this Trash back to Cuba and thats a good place for them! We, the USA, refuse to sign an accord with Cuba and we are paying a dear price here in Miami,,,

Another Hipocracy On Cuban Immigration,,, The Cubans coming here to Miami claim they are fleeing Castro yet how is it, they are here no longer here then a few months and they want to return back to Cuba for a Vacation. They want to go back and play with the Girls or export something illegal thru a 3rd country like Canada, Spain ect and want to go back home to check on Cuba and check on their illegal shipments or Jinteras(street whores). They, by USA Law, are forbidden to trade with the Enemy yet see nothing wrong with back door trades such as this. They criticize others for doing the same(trade, visits) ; what is the old saying, "Do as we say, not as we do". As much as they claim to Hate Fidel, these Cubans send back minimally $15 million weekly in remittances and thats only from Miami. They spend millions weekly in Phone calls back to the Island yet by doing this, they give Castro probably .75 of every dollar per minute in phone call charges. The cost to call Cuba is at least $1.00 per minute, no matter what calling card is used and most of this $1 is for a government hook charge (per minute) so the same Tyrant these Miami Cubans profess to hate, they have enriched by Billions(and daily continue to do so), what a bunch of Hipocrites! Here is something to think about Mike... As that Great Wall of America keeps getting extended eastward, and the mexican illegals keep pressing further eastward to enter around the last section, eventually, if not checked, florida will be the new entry point for the Mexican illegal alien invasion! hahah...kind of like redirecting all those Killer Bees heading North from latin america! Pretty soon, "Banda" and "Rancheras" music will be blaring away 24/7 in Miami, and Spanglish will be the language of the day! jajaja.....i laugh when i hear people talk about there is no economic impact due to the invasion....

.Just my opinion...

Miguel, go to south Dade and you will hear there already is Ranchera being played. There is a huge Mexican (legal and illegal) in Homestead, Florida City, and the Redlands areas. (Lots of year round agriculture jobs that don't require papers) And a Super Walmart: what else does an illegal need?

RJ-rigjht you are and its only 15 minutes south of the Krome Detention center south down Krome Ave. They busted a big time operator in Homestead who was selling Fake Licenses, IDs, Green Cards ect a few months ago. He was part of that Mexican Family who was into franchising "Fake Paper Processing Centers" this was a multi million Dollar enterprise just in Homestead but the Main operation is a family out of Northern Mexico.

In the Florida Straits area, Why Not use Unmanned Drones to patrol the South Florida area? They work in Iraq and Afghanistan why not here? That way we would have 24 hour coverage on Illegals!

I have only been to Miami/Orlando a handful of times to pick up extradited prisoners and return them to "home, sweet home", so i wouldnt even try to claim to be an expert on Miami/Florida...but i do think that if all those current aliens were in fact "legal residents" then WalMart would think twice about f#$king them over...Can you imagine what percentage of Identity Theft is attrituble to illegal aliens and the associated crime rings? (Note to J: i know others have huge hand in this as well...=) ) ....and fake ids just to get a job is only the tip of the ice berg....i have nothing against other mexicans, but, dammit, there is right way to enter the US by respecting our laws, and there is a wrong way to enter by violating our laws....if one choses the wrong way, then if bad things happen, well, sucks to be you! see ya, wouldnt want to be ya....and all the people going through the pain in the ass legal immigration process get my respect and sympathy...not the ones who say f-you America, and here i am so kiss my a$$!..and the legal immigrants seem more grateful for recieving a shot at the so-called "American Dream" and actually take pride in thier new country, as opposed to the ones currently here, taking advantage of the benefits like an economic mercenary....and demanding everything under the flag....I welcome all legal immigrants, but have no compassion for the illegals....both groups of immigrants have the identical reasons for heading north, so the law-abiding one should be welcome, and the law-violating one should get the boot.....

Off to the range where i get to burn up some city ammo and shoot some more people in the back, (paper targets really are so boring!) or so i have been accused....=)

(i saw a video one time from a military training exercise in Afghanistan, where the paper cardboard target was actually held above his head by a fellow Afghan soldier at a good distance away...needless to say, the "future marksman" student, with a brand new gun, actually hit the fool in the leg....Ouch! hahah...)

Clavo, you wouldn't believe the stuff they have watching for illegals and bad guys entering the US down in south Florida. If you drive to Key West, you will notice a huge blimp like balloon on the north side of US 1 around Marathon Key. It isn't there for decoration. The number of Blackhawk choppers flying out of Homestead and NAS Key West is amazing too.

I understand your frustration about illegals. I just got through the K1 visa process with my now wife. It is incredible the crap we had to go through, with millions of illegals who are untouchable in a lot of cases here ... it just pisses me off. Anyway, yo entiendo.

Aztec, a Lot of us in Miami Oppose Amnesty why should these Gate Crashing Illegals and Tourist Visa Overstays go to the front of the Line ahead of those who are patiently waiting in line to acquire a Tourist Visa and accomplish the process in a legal manner? What message does this send to Law Abiding Visa Applicants? The Politicians wanting this Amnesty in south florida are George W and Jeb Bush, Illeana Ros Lehten, the Two Diaz Balart Brothers and Mel martinez!

Robert Jorge-That Blimp you see off Marathon also is used to Broadcast VOA Radio programs to Cuba-another hotbed of Cronyism here in Miami for the Cubans! Nice place to hire their reletives while the Cuban Goverment Jams all the VOA Radio Transmissions!! What a waste of Money! Take that VOA Blimp down and put its funding into Unmanned Aerial Drones!

let's get over it. illegal immigration will always be an issue on the rich countries, especially the former colonial powers and the U.S. I don't really care for it. It is the least of our problems.

i can certainly understand your frustration, UtopiaClown/Cochino I mean, if i had been b-slapped and "man"-handled by a female Mexican Cblog Moderator causing me to runaway with my tail between my legs, and then b-slapped again by a male mexican PBH poster, i would certainly be angry with mexicans too...probably talking major trauma here.....but i think you are losing it, though, kind of like the ThermoNuclear Meltdown virus that is going around...because in one thread you hate on anything mexican, especially mexican women (since it is obvious you are intimidated by females), then in this thread you write as if you are the Great White Hope for the Mexican people.....what a retard, Your Pasty and Pink Highness!
