Ikobo Money Transfer Business back on Line.

Ikobo.com Good outfit.A lot cheaper than Western Union, Cashpin, Xoom, and such. Better rates too. Cost $1.50 US per transaction. Sign up and they the recipient a debit card. Then they just hit any ATM, to get the money. Piece of cake. They were down for about 5 weeks. A new bank took over. They moved from Atlanta to Florida.

I think you meant to say "Sign up and they SEND the recipient a debit card."
The charges are a good bit higher than you say, and I don't totally understand the website.
You can pay by credit card (fee is US$5 3% of funds) or by bank account (not sure if that means a US bank account) (fee $5) but not clear what fee is for a debit card.
You also have to pay to send the recipient's debit card, $11.95 (or 24.95 express), including replacing a lost card,
a monthly maintenance fee of $0.99 (not sure if that is to maintain your account or if that is for each card you have set up),
an ATM withdrawal fee of $1.99 (this means your gf can't take out the cash in dribs and drabs for security without losing her shirt (if you see what I mean)),
a declined ATM withdrawal fee of $0.99 (this means she better keep track of what's left on the card - which she won't)
and a couple others.
If someone can explain the things I don't understand I will consider whether to use the service. I have 3 people I would like to be able to send cash too, but it depends how these fees work.
Thanks for the post. Interesting.

Or you can BYPASS all of this and leave a debit card OVER THERE to that special loved one!

You control the balance

Low or No fees depending on bank.

Some companies like paypal you can get a debit card with (That persons) name on it. NO S.S.# required so they can use it like a credit card.

"PAY ATTENTION! I wonder if that person knows that when we push the FUNNY button, its because we are reading something outrageous, trying to be cynical, derogatory, sarcastic and/or obnoxious!"

I tried it here with a Nationwide Flex card. No fees, excellent rate, but...

TSLO (that special loved one) kept taking small amounts from ATM and couldn't keep track of the balance. (She uses paperless system - very modern!!). When the account got overdrawn, the darn Flex system gave me an unwanted overdraft limit of £250. So controlling the balance idea didn't work. If only Flex would simply not pay when no money left! I couldn't cancel the overdraft online, as the stupid system only seems to understand INCREASING an o/d limit. I don't like to call them as they might cancel the card as probably not supposed to give to someone else. Sensible.

PS 'Here' means UK of course. 'Here' does not mean USA! See dictionary!

Sorry, as a UK person I find it confusing when US persons use "here" to mean USA. It's a minor point, but when you add it to other minor points like US-speak, spelling errors, in-jokes etc it can add up to posts being hard to understand for non-US users. After couple years I still find it hard to understand half the posts here. Here?
