A friend of mine in Medellin just sold one of her smaller Internet Cafes for 15 Million. That place has non-stop business. But, keep in mind these types of businesses have very small profit margins.

Mike, you can try to sell these ridiculous offers, backed by as many excuses as you want. And we should try to educate people before they get ripped off!

And for those reading this who are considering investing in Colombia. Be careful of these predatory vendors. Your best option is to hook up with someone who has been living in your city for a while and know more reputable pro's who are just looking to make an honest living selling at normal market prices.

A good way to know your market is to walk around and do some of your own research. Visit businesses in the same field. Ask them what they paid for it and what has been offered for it recently. Ask them how much their capital equipment cost, what they pay for rent, and what they think their good will is worth. You will get the best answers from the people who are not currently looking to sell.

Don't rely on people like Mike to tell you what something is worth. They don't give a damn about you. Find someone who has been around, to look out for your interests.
