If you could meet in person only one member of PBH, who would it be and why?

As you guys know, I usually don't open too many let's-get-to-know-each-other-better type posts, it's not my style. But after constantly participating on this board, sometimes you can't help but wonder who are these strangers with whom you spend so much time exchanging opinions, anecdotes, and even insults. So I hope to hear from you guys.

Colx I think I would want to meet you! Just to see if you are like I picture you. I picture you with brown hair, cut very short, brown eyes, medium build, and wearing the yellow "Seleccion de Colombia" soccer shirt with blue jeans. I also picture you wearing those little weaved Colombia flag bracelets that are so in style these days.

That's so sweet, I would have thought the person you'd want to meet most would be Elmo....or is that the other way around?

Desi,

Well, I didn't want this to be a negative-themed thread, you know how much I dislike 'negatives'.

That's fine, in law school, my professor told me that I was a "lightening rod of controversey." So be it.

But asked to choose who are the most significant people that I have special curiosity about, the list would go like this.

Kernow (the most contrary)
Kernow (the second most contary--and working on being the third)
Kat1..(not because she included me...she seems like a wonderful lady

Desi. A lady as well. Has wit. and very broad based in her knowledge of the world and people. Also likes to stay clear of the attack stuff.

ColX (not because he created the thread) Cx is a bit overzealous in his defense of Colombia. However, he is a kind and considerate person. We have PMd regularly and I can honestly call him-"Friend"

Utopiacowboy. insitefull and guests his message accross with in a few words. He says the same as I do--often. He just uses less words, and because of that, the more shallow people out here miss his points.

Gomez,

"I clearly am getting shortchanged in that department."

You're not alone, amigo. One of the reasons I began this thread is because I needed to get my mind off from what has been a heart-breaking weekend. It turns out that the really cute colombian waitress I had my sights set on and who's only been here for five months, has a boyfriend. What pisses me off is that when I finally mustered the courage to ask her out the other day, her face lit up, she got all nervous, and she couldn't stop smiling, yet the only answer she gave me was, "Te dejo saber" (I'll let you know)...so I walked out of there with a bittersweet feeling. When I went back the next day, she lays the truth on me, but it was already too late... que despecho tan HP. Why can't some colombianas be direct and just tell you that they have a boyfriend upfront? Ok, I know I'm straying from my own topic, but the OP can do that.

ouch... desi...i was just kidding....i didn't expect such a harsh response...especially not from you...i was just being silly...

look i don't have the huge depth and breadth of knowledge about colombia that you do so i don't jump in on too many posts. colombia came into my life because of the long story i have told before about my ex...but despite he no longer being a part of my life, i have fallen in love with colombia. so i read this site. i input when i can. and i get to know all of you.

i would love to meet many pbh'ers in person. i think we all come from such diverse experiences that it would be nothing short of an exciting circus for us all to be in the same place.

i know that i have not opened myself up to pbh all that much and most of you would have no reason to want to meet me as you don't really know too much about me. but its 3am where i am and i was just jumping in with an inane comment on this fun thread. perhaps my feeble attempt at humour was misinterpreted by you. why such a negative response from you desi?

had only read half of your post when I answered. It's past 1 a.m here and I'm good for 6 hrs shut-eye. My response to you was motivated by several things, one of the being sylvie's disappointment of not being on anybody's list. I think these lists are obnoxious. I haven't made mine. It's enough to say that I'd love to meet most of the regular posters in person, some that don't post all the time too and there aren't many here that I wouldn't like to meet.

About the humour, check the thread about Colombian jokes. Most of the jokes there are very good; they have given me many a good laugh. I'm not all that crazy about the kind of joking that Utopia cowboy and elmo carry on here all the time, discussing bodíly fluids and/or orifices tend to get rather boring after a while.

So, when a guy reads on the Internet, "Meet Women For Sex!", it's not really true? Darn it. Do you think those inflatable dolls they sell really work? Well, Sylvie, you're right, you wouldn't want Elmo to get the wrong idea. As it is, he'll probably be excited enough once he sees your pic that he'll have to excuse himself to go to the bathroom. Then Desi will have to read about it and she hates these kinds of posts. So she'll put another thread out on the Espanol Only forum advocating death to the gringos. No, wait, that was me. just curious, if you work in casa narino, how is your home the good ole u.s.a.? and to state unequivocally that you wouldn't marry a gringa, reduces the odds even more. you can't tell me that here (usa) is home and not appreciate the ladies.

sounds a bit odd from me, being married to a paisa, but it's true. i think there must be lots of wonderful, domineering, american ladies just waiting to put the screws to your life. why wait for the one who f****d with your heart to do it?

anyway, freind, i do wish you the best. for me, i'm so old that the race, for good or bad, is run and i'm not the type to change horses in the middle of the race. because, it ain't about winning, it's about getting to the end with the original horse and rider. si o no?

i still couldn't separate out the one of you to choose above the others. how could i? you're all so unique and interesting, even when your feathers are ruffled (just like me)

when i finally get back, i can think of an easy 25 or 30 i'd gladly call and invite out to a drink or a coffee/meal... i'll bet i'd like all of you.
