If this policy were to be followed

Some BOZO sent me this. Obviously not too intelligent, but there are many who would agree with the words I am about to paste into this post.

The reason for starting this thread is comment on WHAT WOULD REALLY HAPPEN TO THE US if this "Plan" were to be implemented.

Here's the email text:

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

"My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed.

Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq . This action will be complete within 30 days. It ! is now to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom , Spain , Bulgaria , Australia , and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France .

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France , or maybe China

I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France , Germany , and Russia .. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be s! tripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pert ains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. They care.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin."
Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America .. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America .. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we won't forget. To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic. God bless America .. Thank you and good night."

If you can read this, thank a teacher.

If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

(Please forward this to at least ten friends and see what happens! Let's get this to every USA computer!) "And there you have it - the master plan.

Again - what would happen if this plan were to be implemented?

You mean how would it affect Colombia, to tie into PBH? Colombia would be on List 1.

Just my opinion...

Clavo I posted what I meant in bold. But if you want to tie this to Colombia - feel free.

My thought was since topics have to be somehow connected to Colombia in order to be not deleted by the mods, keeping in mind past threads that have been deleted since they were not connected/off-topic to Colombia, i would be helpful and tie it into Colombia...i wasnt saying it was your opinion or feeling on the matter, or trying to rewrite your OP, i was just trying to prevent it from being removed....sorry if you feel offended somehow....i though it was interesting, and would like to not see it deleted...

.Just my opinion...

In a way it do's apply to Colombia When you start talking about foreign Aid it most certianly applies to any country getting hand outs from the US. Including Colombia. Trouble is, if you stop the aid, then you will end up being worst off than if you did. You cannot lock the US in a Eggshell. Then the US would end up like Humpty Dumpty. We would have a big fall. The US is not self sufficent. Too many inports.

its unspoken words ... but the fact is Mr Bush thinks that way It's not hate what his head has... but stupidiy:

- Thinking about making peace creating a war
- Thinking that he could help St Louis from his vacation site
- Thinking that inmigration problem will be solve with a wall ...

These are some beuty examples of what the "MOST" important man on north america land can do.

He has a really deep thinking... like a 5 years old boy.

That would be a little like ... taking a 68-yr-old off of their meds for cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes (not diamedez) blood pressure and anti-anxiety. They'd blow up and die right away. And, maybe then be 'born again'. jaja

They are already a mess.
So is.... the USA and the Rest.

The world is a GHETTO.
That is all nice dreamy thinking.
Sounds like something someone from the 60's or 70's wrote (dreamed)

and, thank you.

goin_south says on Apr 29, 2007, 00:53:

Rubi, I didn't say it wasn't a good idea, either.
Only that it would most definitely cause alot of upheaval.
Even the rest of the world, wouldn't know how to act.
It's like... the world is too far in.
No going back.
As nice as it sounds.

Plus, it is like asking a hypothetical, as my attorney in court would say...that's all it is. It never happened, nor will it.

That's why it's like .... a john lenon song.

and, thank you.

Nonsensical mutterings or just excited utterance. Rocinante,

The USA does not implement treaties such as NAFTA out of charity. These treaties have been painstakingly negotiated in order to eliminate tariffs on US goods and services. These treaties make US goods and services more competitive in foreign markets.

"American farmers must look to foreign markets because production and production capacity is increasing faster than domestic demand. (1) The food on one in three acres of US farmland is exported. (1) The value of US exports now accounts for 1/4 of farm receipts in the US. " (1)

The USA does not provide aid to third world countries (such as Colombia) solely out of charity. The USA provides aid to these countries in order to encourage the economies of third world nations to flourish and grow. As these economies grow so will the living standards and disposable incomes of their citizens. To coin a phrase from Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations, the reasoning is that these citizens will then seek to "better their condition" and purchase goods and services imported from countries such as the USA.

The USA also provides aid to these nations in order to encourage them to cooperate with the USA in enacting policies which will directly benefit the USA. For example, the US provides training and hardware to the Colombian government to help stem the supply of narcotics entering the USA from Colombia.

Exported goods equates to jobs at home. Every shipment of wheat, barley, soy, computers, airplane parts or WHATEVER that leaves US shores bound for international export means money and jobs back home. Money and jobs that raise the standard of living for ordinary folks in the USA and provide food and education for our kids.

The thought of alienating our foreign trading partners, destroying decades of hard won trade negotiations and thereby irreparably damaging our export markets with the sole purpose of punishing sovereign governments whose policies reflect the will of the people they represent is at best childlike and reckless.

At worst your quoted statements represent the jingoistic rantings of an ignorant recalcitrant bent on a major weakening of the US economy to the detriment of all US citizens.

The author of the populist drivel you posted should stick to his pencils and crowns and leave matters of foreign affairs to the grown ups.

COLOMBIAN solutions to COLOMBIAN problems??

I guess then, you can take every freakn computer out of Colombia, since to my knowledge, Colombia doesn't produce much, if any, high tech equipment. (Now, how are you going to write home??)

And, Tomtom... go play with yerself ;-)

and, thank you.
