Yes I agree soft porn content is an interesting market in Colombia, personally it's not my area and I am very conservative in my views, but I know a British company who wants to grow there.

If you want to invest your money in a business, do you mean you want to run that business yourself? Do you want to own that business?

Buying some stock would be much safer, btw. Why do you want to invest money specifically in Cali?

Colombian stocks made over 40 % annually over the last 5 years. The stocks made over 25 % yearly over the last 15 % in Colombia pesos.

However you have to be Colombian and live in Colombia in order to invest without any hassle.

A simple 12 month CD in 2005 (for the 12 month period jan-jan) in colombia did over 18%. Actually almost 19%.

Hard to beat that Frank! Afterwards, when the CD matured and you cashed out in Pesos to receive Dollars, what % would you have cash in hand? If one invested 50K in these CDs and used the monthly interest judicously, you could live OK without even tapping the principal. In the late 80s Mexico CDs were paying 25%-35% and many Americans were doing just that with 20k-30K in the bank. What Banks are paying this rate of interest BTW?

CD - Certificates of Deposit... Not the one's you listen to.... It's like a short, medium or long term interest bearing investment... So, a bank pays you 18% of what you deposit for them holding your money for the specified period of time........................

You should really, really be careful when you invest........ Seriously....

A CD today gives about 7-8% a year. But the inflation rate in Colombia is about 6-7% (for this year). CD's áre not a good way to earn money but a good way to mantaint the same adquisitive value.
