PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
i was married in augost in colombia and submitted an application for sponsorship and a pr visa for my wife..it was approved in canada and the package is now in bogota...looking at canada imigration website i can see that bogota moves and works at the speed of a snail...we recieved a letter saying my wifes application has been recieved and placed in que...meaning its now on a shelf left to gather mouse shit and dust....her medical papers will have expired befor they get around to looking at them.. (i believe they are only good for 1 year).if an interview is requested i plan on attending with my wife...her app should be straight forward...they have mountains of proof of our relation ship going back two years (8 trips to colombia)hotel and appartment reciets..wedding reciets and photos of our times together...emails etc...they also have her police certificates and she has had no trouble with the law period...not for so much as spitting bubblegum on a sidewalk....would it help for me to visit the embassy in bogota and try to speed things up...or am i better off to just sit and wait and let the wheels turn for a while?i am also wodering if i can put in an app for a work visa for her as i own a business in canada (short staffed)and could easily put her to work...the wait time for a work visa is only two months....i had initially planed to wait about 6 months fpr her pr visa to be processed and then at that time if it was,nt done i thought id make some noise in canada and if nessecary move in and live and the canada embassy in bogota if thats what i have to do...till they get sick of seeing my face......any help would be appreciated...thanks

oldbongo says on Nov 21, 2006, 10:19: this is the case.... oldbongo was then oldgringo, and he wanted to have la commandante accompany him on his wanderings, however, the canadians weren't exactly anxious to assist him in her visa applications.
