Dolfi says on Jul 9, 2008, 01:14: No real proof for this, but it makes sense at least. Obviously, Uribe´s government and his american allies try to prevent any peaceful (negotiated) solution to the conflict, because thsis would mean an incorporation of the Guerilla into the political proces in Colombia. This has happened in variuos southamerican contries from El Salvador to Uruguay (where the Tupamaros are now in the government), and the Ex-guerilleros are doing quite well politically (In Colombia this was tried before by the M19, but they all got killed by the Right).
