Apartamentos Alvaro Jesus I don't know what your needs are, but this building offers a full kitchen, dinning and living area, bed and bath, for about 100.000 pesos per day. Here is their website:

I need assistance with getting a realistic price quote (monthly) In a country where the average worker will earn $250 per month...I really dont understand all of these riduclous prices. Why should I pay 750 USD +++ for renting a three bedroom apartment when the locals get the same thing for maybe half that. So does anyone know where I can get a furnished three bedroom apartment for $250 USD-$350 USD in Cartegena. It should be clean, neat, with no leaks or structural problems. It should also be in a good part of town with minimal crime. I may decide to stay for 3 months if I like it...maybe longer.

Room/apartment Barranquilla Hi, I'm planning a trip to B'Quilla from jan/feb 2007, for about 3 months. Now I'm looking for a furnished room/apartment, which includes a good internet (banda ancha)connection.Could be an independent apartment, but also a room with a local family. Any tips? Preferably a maximum of about 500.000 pesos.

not with internet access high speed internet is only strata 6 and above (maybe 5 if your lucky), and for strata 6 and above you will have to pay at least double your maximum.

Bali I can understand your comment about the cost for rent in Bogota. The problem is that of supply and demand. If you stay long enough and know the right people you may be able to rent a more affordable apartment.
First though, you will have to buy furniture, stove and fridge. The apartments here come with absolutely nothing in them.

Also, you will need someone who lives in the area to co-sign for you. Usually they must own property themselves. You on the other hand are usually required to have a Cedula.

Given this, maybe you can understand why people charge so much for renting their furnished apartments.

Having said all of this there is always the exception to the rule. If you can speak Spanish you may be able to find something in the newspaper. Personally, I would not rent out my apartment for $750. Sure, I pay alot less here in Colombia for rent but there is no way I would want to take the chance on someone ruining my stuff.

Hope that helps explain things here in Colombia.
