I wore my "NO MAS FARC" t-shirt in Skagway, Alaska today........

Yes, I wore my t-shirt that I wore in the Feb. 4th march in Medellin up here in Alaska today. It was my way of celebrating the success of Colombia. The news of the hostage rescue was all over the news the night before and as I walked through the tiny town of Skagway, I recieved many long stares. I heard some people in the background translating the words on my shirt to their friends as I walked by. Believe it or not, I was a approached by an ederly couple from Bogota and they were curious where I got the shirt and were quite happy about the rescue.

It was a good day.......

its bizzare where you will meet colombians or people who have been there: I wore a blacksheep hostel medellin shirt in a bar in Baghdad and was asked about it by a few people who had stayed there. Walked into a bar in Dubai that was a Colombian one - with colombian band and all. I was at a restaurant in Khartoum and met two colombians.

How many cruise ships are parked in Skagway today? In the off season, Skagway is the Taganga of the north.

Alaska's nice. Been up here since 76. Work remote. At USAF Radar sites. I personally like the Kenai Peninsula. Especially Homer. Lots of seafood. Nice vista's. Glaciers, eagles, Big Halibut. And some good sized King Salmon. Huge Bears. You name it. Birch Beetles got to alot of the trees tho. Google Homer, AK. sometime.
