Well... Well Perth, once something is broken, it can never be the same again as it was. The problem will always be there. So...take one day and only ONE day to be sad about it and then dust yourself off and get back out there. Treat yourself to a couple of fast and shallow relationships to clear your mind and get you back on track and then you will be ready to get back in the game of something serious again. Consider yourself fortunate for the lesson. Hopefully you learned something but if you are like most people, you learned the wrong lesson from this and it will happen again down the road. Come on PERTH2MEDELLIN... ...suck it up. Many of us here have had it much worse than you in loves lost. For example I lost my childhood girlfriend/wife to cancer after 25 years of marriage. Having to leave the hospital and inform my two son of 14 and 16 their mother would not ever come home again is devastating.

I will never get over her death and absence. I have however, learned to live with it.

My marriage to a woman from Bogotá has now lasted almost 17 years. I love her as much as I loved my first wife. Only they are different people and the life is different. It is not better or worse. Marriage can be just as rewarding the second time.

What is that saying, "love is temporary insanity". It's stupid. You don't fall in love with other people, you fall in love with yourself and what other people represent to you.
