BAQ says on Sep 26, 2005, 16:10: You can;t get one Last month the Colombian President signed a presidential order restricting visa's for people who live in California, the other States are not affected, so if you move to Montana first, you can get a visa without any problem. Semper Fidelis ! |

Crazy4Cali says on Sep 26, 2005, 16:40: don't fuss just go down there on a tourist visa. They can be initially anywhere from 30 to 90 days and extended to 180. If you like it, do some homework down there to find out what type of visa will suit you best for a longer stay:

Gator says on Sep 26, 2005, 18:53: Outside.. Colombia and apply at a Colombian consulate or embassy. Or, since you do not need a FORMAL visa to enter as a tourist take a chance you will be able to adjust status after you enter the country-I doubt you will be successful. Visas for alternative life stiles are not passed out with a lot of work on your part-like a job, support, reason for being in Colombia other than "I like it here." "Brevior Sltare Cum Deformibus Mulieribus Est Vita!" . |

catwoman says on Sep 27, 2005, 19:44: Ok... Well, thanks for the advice... I really dont need any negative comments so please if you are going to leave something that is out of the question than please dont bother... I am going to look into those options as too going down there with a tourist visa... And maybe marry a hot colombian man... LOL! That really sucks californians' are not approved... I wonder why? I hope I dont have a hard time... With this the reason maybe can be personal but they are'nt anything that I know I dont have a ligitament excuse for the reason, of I wanting to live there... So I have to do some serious homework.... Thanks

Cel says on Oct 19, 2005, 20:24: Visas Information You do not need a visa to visit Colombia, just a US Passport. You can stay up to the limit stamped in your passport when you enter; Usually 30 or 60 days. ...If you want to stay longer, you can go to DSA for an extension. If you want to live there, there are many different visas. I copied some of the following information from Cali Plaza Hotel web-site at: http://www.caliplaza.com/html/info____links.html . It is American owned, and they have an office located there, that is occupied by Gonzalo Services. He does more visas in Cali than anyone else, but he usually is helping with Visas for Colombians to come to USA, mostly marriage visas. For information about applying for a Colombian Visa, go to the web site of the Colombia Embassy in Washington D.C. ...or the web sites of the Miami or Houston Consulates. Gonzalo recommends Miami and Houston web sites!
