i tried to go to a colombian party :(

There was a Colombian FIESTA de INDEPENDCIA party in the local chuch near my house on Saturday night that i really wanted to go to. On the flyer, there were pictures of hot bikini clad girls, prizes incl "Dinero, whisky, TV" , and it said there was "aire aircondiciondo" (i guess it was gonna be a hot party). i had met "DJ lopez" putting up flyers on telephone poles earlier that afternoon, seemed like a nice guy. He promised a good time.

In anycase, i tried for over 3hrs to convince my 2 other gringo friends to come with me but they were too scared. Geez, we in Canada !!!! Finally i went alone at approx. 2am, but couldn't get past the "yellow police tape, and squad cars" from an incident that happened just before i arrived.

In Canada, you don't usually get stabbed unless you deserve it, meaning you're involved in certain activities and you're making enemies, so I'm still disappointed to not have gone.

I'm just wiping the egg off my face, after spending hours dismissing my friends concerns about possible violence at these events.
