I think most gringos dont like living in bogota

A previous post i wrote asked the Q do gringos like living in bogota. Only one gringo said he liked it and only gave a few reasons for liking it. All the gringos that don't like it if you read this post please say why you don't like living in bogota. Possibly i am completely wrong but according to my last post there was not much enthusiasm for living in bogota

I liked it. I didn't opine because I don't live there anymore. But I thought it was one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I love the green plains, the mountains, and the red brick architecture.
I love the nightlife - both in the fancy upscale districts, and in the wild, rambunctious south.
I think public transportation in Colombia is more efficient than in the US (if dirtier.)
I love the sense of community Mockus instilled - ever gone on one of the city wide bike trecks?
I love the ag-expo and the book fair - classy events.
I think the Javeriana is a beautiful university, and despite all the warnings, I never felt in danger in Candalaria; I'd gladly own an apartment there.
And I LOVE cachacas. Is there a more beautiful people in the world?

Put this gringo in the plus column. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

grey versus blue I have heard many positive things about Bogota, but have also heard that it is overcast more often than not. Personally, I need blue skies.

Gringo on Bogota I have lived in Colorado, Washington DC, Germany, Miami and Bogota. Without any doubt, the place I felt most at home, the most full of life, and met the best friends was in Bogota. I cant wait to move back. And I love the cool, overcast days. Being able to wear a Jacket, tie and slacks (vs Miami style). I liked the smell of Eucalyptus also. It seems to permeate the place. Soon i am going to cash out and go back....

Bogota is GREAT
This is one of my favorite cities in South America. I like the temperate weather so close to the equator. I have probably spent 2 years there over the last 6.

If I feel like a climate change, I just hop on a plane and within an hour can be in Cartehena ( Hot ), Medellin ( warm ), or many other cities or towns in between.

Bogota is a sophisticated city with good food, many friends and lots to do. The main thing I miss is the lack of good Chinese food. It was even a problem trying to get the correct raw ingredients and tools if I wanted to make it myself.

Lovely friends
Good fresh produce
cheep groceries
Good bus system
Good muti layerd city (old, new)
Beautiful families and community feeling.
cheep movies
beautiful views
great how they have "bike day" on sundays and block whole lanes only for people to skate and ride in.

dodgy wages for poor people.
Bad smog from buses.
Major problem with litter bugs!
Overcast days can get too much
Bad drivers can scare the hell out of you!
Badly maintained roads, watch out for holes big enough to swallow the car.
Scary when violence shows its self to you.
