I need to get out and get to Medellin

Hi,

Yes it is me again with another stupid and crazy idea to escape the depression of losing the love of my life.

I was hoping some one might have taken the drive from the US to Medellin or Colombia and they can fill me in on how to do it. I am think of thinking a leave of absence and getting on my motor and heading for Medellin and then on to family in Belo Horizante, Brazil.

If anyone can help me plot the root I would be appreciative. AAA would only get me to the Mexican Border.

Please, I really do not want to hear about the dangers involved since I have no family except the ex in Medellin and my poor but happy Madrina from Cali, Colombia. Anyone stupid enough to kidnap me would be wasting their time and if they want to waste the waste of a life that I live in so be it.

do a search here use "Darien Gap" for the search, the only really difficult part of the trip, there is some advice how to bypass it.

Otherwise do a search on the net for Panamerican Highway. Many do the trip, and there you can find info on the dangerous parts on the route.

the best bet take your bike (?) to panama...put it on a deck to cartagena and go from there...avoid the whole f**k of the darien.

there is no road from panama to colombia. you would need to get your car from panama to colombia by boat.

i had the urge to do this once but it would be a really bad idea in practice.
