I need highlights for my hair...any recommendations?

I recommend you go to a big name salon, it maybe a bit more expensive, but they got their big name for a reason. I've never had highlights done, so I can't recommend a place as such, but maybe going through the biggest ads in the phonebook? That's what I do when I need things, I assume those are the most established business.

I got my hair messed up pretty bad in Cali in one of the cheap places int he barrios. It's true that they are not used to doing soft, blond, fine hair and if not truly professional, tend to use too much bleach and too strong stuff on that kind of hair.

I'd follow Lauthra's advice and have my hair highlighted at a big-name salon since I have the type of hair that has to be treated gently.
