I need an information

Hello i have got one question and i really appreciate if any one from you could help me.
I am from Slovakia (EU citizen) and my boyfriend is colombian and living in Colombia and studding.
He wants to get married and makes me angry ,he doesn't know almost anything about the law. What everything is necessary to show the officer and what everything we have to proof? I have been trying to get an information many times but there is not any special advise. I am student and still studding and i am not planing to stay in Colombia. Just for 3 months and i have to come back to my country.
Please can you give me some information about marriage between EU citizen (from Slovakia) and colombian citizen?
Thank you in advance.

been there done that Hi my partner had been living overseas for years and also had no idea about the paperwork required.

It takes some time to get it all sent from home but you need-

A certificate of single-ness from your government....or

A letter from your parents or someone who has known you for at least 10 years saying you are single. If you choose this option the letter must be signed by a lawyer.

An original birth certificate no less than 3 months old when you present it to the colombian notaria-

All these documents must be apostilled by your government to make them legal documents in Colombia-

OR

you can go to Cartagena and get married just with your passport....its really easy there apparently. Goodluck

I feel, get married in Colombia is really difficult. I though it will be all right. Hm thank you because now we are more clever and we could see a best way for doing it.
Do you know if i have to require for special visa or its not necessery this time?
Thank you

HI no you don`t need a new visa, you can marry on your tourist visa no problems. You just need that documentation. Or if you go to Cartagena you need only your passport.

What ever visa you hold right now, it must be valid in order for you to get married and then you can apply for the spouse visa once you are married which is for two years.

Getting married costs about 250,000 pesos at the notaria.
