I NEED A LITTLE ADVICE

I am in the process of getting my paperwork ready for the K-9 visa. I only have one problem. I did not file taxes last year because I lived worked with my family on our family farm. Now I run a car dealership here in Florida. My income will be on a 1040 this year. I am paid with company checks this year and just started this job. I was wondering how do I prove that she will not become dependent on the government. I have never been dependent on the government. I did not know if I needed an attorney for this or can I save that money and do this myself. Thanks for any advice you can give

Hey Terry, is the "K-9" visa for importing dogs? Sorry, I couldn't resist being the first to take a jab at you. lol
Seriously though, Gator will have good advice soon. In most cases, it seems like lawyers are a waste of money and most here did everything on their own. Check out visajourney.com. That site will have better advice and information than most immigration attorneys. Sorry I do not have any answers for your question.

K-1 or K-3 Visa? go to http://visajourney.com/forums/index.php?act=home

they have links to charts explaining the income levels and/or other resources that qualify you to sponsor a novia/wife.

if it is just the two of you, then you don't need to show much income or bank deposits or real estate holdings.

you'll be fine. if it makes you feel better , then hire an expert.

either way, it will take months and months.

Co Sponsor It is my understanding that you can have someone else co-sponsor her to help meet the support requirements. This could be a family member of yours.

The income required to sponsor someone is very low. I think it is 125% of the poverty level. I'm not sure what the exact amount is, but it should be somewhere in the $20,000 - $25,000 level.

You can also use certain types of assets to help you qualify.

There are plenty of posts of this nature on VisaJourney.com

Good luck,
