Turnmeon,

Before the Carnival or during? (it's late February in 2009).

Best rate I could get in June 2008 was 1 3500 000 COP for a month (this was furnished and had only one bedroom). Took me a long time to find it too (in the Prado district).

I recently enquired for a 02/15 to 03/15 stay in the SAME flat and the rate had gone up to 4 millions (because of the carnival)... Needless to say, I'll be staying at Nelly's flat in February/March 2009... ;-)

Have you tried the Heraldo classifieds?

Let us know how you're doing. Barranquilla can be a "bitch" on the accomodation front...

I read el heraldo last night, there were a few classified for furnished apartments but they didn“t show the how much the rent was. I imagine because they were asking for a load of cash. Furnished apartments are pretty pricey here.
I will look again tonight and write what i see here tomorrow

Sorry Turnmeon, I don't have her number. But Nelly met her in Carulla a few days ago and she told her that, in any event, she has nothing available before mid-March...

Have you tried the apartahotels (see the list on my blog http://www.darloup.com/blog/?page_id=420)? Don't expect to find anything below 3 millions COP IF anything is still available over the carnival period...

Please let us know how you're faring!
