David in Idaho says on Aug 12, 2006, 21:18: What exactly is the problem? Have you begun the visa process? K-1? K-3? I know it is a long road, but why are you having such a hard time? Just be patient, document everything, jump through the hoops, pay the fees, obey the rules, and wait the months.

Crazy4Cali says on Aug 13, 2006, 08:38: If... If your girl is younger than 55 and/or doesn't have much in the way of financial assets in Colombia, then stop wasting your money on tourist visa attempts. Chances are slim that she'll ever get a tourist visa. There are always exceptions, of course, but to be practical, you'll probably just have to plan on growing your relationship in Colombia and when you want to get married, then you can apply for the fiance visa.

utopiacowboy says on Aug 13, 2006, 11:02: Crazy is right. I can't believe you've been wasting your time with trying to get a tourist visa for her. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

rjstuff says on Aug 13, 2006, 11:56: crazy and utopia are right as usual. My advice, go visit her as often as you can and when you think you want to get married - decide on the type of visa to apply for - a K1 or a K3 (or CR1) - If you do not want to get married yer (or ever) you can't get her a visa to visit - its very nearly impossible for most Colombians (and you have already tried twice.) Ggod Luck

Crazy4Cali says on Aug 15, 2006, 08:33: Why bother? If you don't want to get married, then just go down there and "Visit" as many and as often as you want. Heck, with a $1000 RT (half that if you live in Miami) you can have a decent week for less than $2000. That's the price of what 10 American dates (5?, 1/2?)

802MARK says on Oct 2, 2006, 17:22: TOURIST VISA EHHHH THE OLD TOURIST VISA.. WHAT A WONDERFUL LITTLE CARD.. IT GIVES YOUR LADY THE TIME TO COME TO THE STATES AND MEET AND GREET ALL YOUR FAMILY, YES EVEN UNCLE ED WHO LIKES TO WEAR BIG TIES AND THINKS ITS FUNNY TO TAKE OFF HIS HAIR PIECE AND SCARE THE KIDS.. IT ALSO GIVES HER TIME TO SEE WHERE AND HOW YOU LIVE, GET USE TO THE FOOD,MUSIC, WEATHER, PEOPLE ECT. ALSO TIME FOR BOTH OF YOU TO SEE EACH OTHER EVERYDAY!! YES EVEN WHEN SHE OR YOU IS IN A BAD MOOD. 6 MONTHS OF EVERYDAY WITH EACH OTHER WILL REALLY HELP TO SEE BOTH SIDES OF EACH OTHER WHICH MIGHT MAKE YOU OR HER CHANGE FROM LOVE TO GO BACK HOME NOW OR TO KNOW THIS IS PERFECT!!! WOW PROBLEM IS A TOURSIT VISA IS HARDER TO GET THEN A DOLLAR FROM A LAWYER... UNLESS..... YOU HAVE THE RIGHT FRIENDS. THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS FILE FOR THE K1 VISA, MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS CORRECT AND DO STEP BY STEP WHAT THEY WANT. READ THIS BOARD, THERE ARE PEOPLE ON HERE THAT KNOW HOW TO DO EVERY STEP THE RIGHT WAY.. MAKE AND KEEP 3 COPIES OF EVERYTHING. PUT IN THE TIME. CROSS THE T'S.. DOT THE I'S AND IT WILL COME TRUE FOR BOTH OF YOU. ME, I DON'T HAVE ALL THE RIGHT ANSWERS I JUST HAVE THE RIGHT FRIENDS.

panthdave says on Oct 2, 2006, 19:45: Good Luck.....Get a Job in Miami That will solve all problems Get a job in Miami and fly roundtrip for 400.00. I noticed so many people trying to move Colombia or going thru the hassels of bringing back a girl to the States by marrying WAKE UP.. I figured out I can work in Miami make more money and just visit my honey on the weekends or every other weekend.. 400.00 in Miami is two dinners and two nights out..and play the headgames with the Miami chicas.Better anyway I come to work in Miami and fly to Medellin... Like having two homes..I don't want to get married and thats it..If your girlfriend does not like it that you don't bring her back to Miami. Toughluck there is another one within seconds....So move to Miami get a job don't get caught up in the fastlane in Miami and you have enough money to go back and forth all the time..You can leave your job on a Friday at 15:30 be at MIA by 16:00 to catch the famous AA923 at 17:35 to Medellin and be at work by 13:00 by Monday just makesure and bring a carry on only..The famous AA 924 comes back early on Monday.. panthdave Miami 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

802MARK says on Oct 3, 2006, 05:26: RED FLAGS THAT IS A SMART WAY TO DO IT, BUT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT IF YOU COME IN FOR THE WEEKEND OVER AND OVER LIKE THAT, THEN D.A.S. IS GOING TO FLAG YOUR PASSPORT BECAUSE THEY WILL THINK YOUR RUNNING DRUGS, AND PULL YOU OUT OF LINE ONE DAY AND XRAY YOU WITHOUT THE PROTECTION VEST AND AFTER THAT THEY WILL SLAP ON A GLOVE, HAVE YOU BEND OVER AND RAM THEIR ENTIRE HAND UP TO THE ELBOW UP YOUR BUTT. WON'T HAPPEN? WELL IT HAPPEN TO A FRIEND OF MINE, WHO WAS MARRIED TO A LADY AND HE WAS GOING BACK AND FORTH FROM MIAMI TO SEE HER TWO TIMES A MONTH. HE ALSO OWNS A CHILDREN'S CENTER HE STARTED AND FUNDS IN COLOMBIA AND SHOWED THEM THAT PAPERWORK AS WELL AS THE PAPERWORK SHOWING HE WAS MARRIED AND JUST WAITING FOR THEIR VISA TO COME THROUGH, DIDN'T STOP THEM FROM DOING THE ABOVE TO HIM. SO FAR YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN LUCKY BUT SOONER OR LATER IT WILL HAPPEN AND YOU WON'T EVEN GET DINNER OR A GOODBYE KISS AFTERWARDS!!!!

panthdave says on Oct 3, 2006, 06:18: Well has not happened ye You know hard to believe because Medellin Security has had respect and the police no problem.. Yes they checked my bags twice and the dogs..Hard to believe but I have traveled from Peru at least 50 times and that never happened but Peru different from Colombia. I am sure also they do a racial profile before going to the extreme..like you said.. All I have to say the Medellin Airport Security/Police have been respectful and courteous..I also noticed they are looking more for dollars/checks/funds than drugs..I really think your going to the Extreme NO OFFENSE..but I am very happy living in Miami which gives me the opportunity to go to Colombia on a 3 hour flight..and affordable..To me this is the best get a job in Miami and it is easy to go back and forth..Also you meet chicas with Visas when the come to Miami for shopping they give you a call.. panthdave Miami 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
