Hello, I love the cars in Colombia. There is one car that is older and very small. Some people said it is for the poorer people, but I would love to have one myself. It looks to be made out of a thicker tougher metal.
When I was at the gas station in Colombia, I noticed some cars are using some sort of gas that is cheaper than regular gasoline. I don't think it was a liquid gas. I have not seen it here in the states yet. We had to get out of the bus when they filled it for safty reasons, and it took a different nozzle.
And info on this.

kat1 (Moderator) says on Feb 5, 2007, 10:42: I think that gas in Colombia is LPG, many cars now have that, with petrol pices rising people is putting this cilindars in the boot or as you call it my fellow Americans trunk. I have seen many taxis and 4x4 with this convertions and is advertised everywhere. My mum is thinking about that, they told her she can go from Villavo to Bogota filling the tank with just 15.000 cop that is not even half of what she usually paid.

windbesitos says on Feb 5, 2007, 14:27: Renault I think if they sold these Renault cars in the US, they would be a big hit. I would pay for one. My wife from Colombia laughed at me when I said I would rather have a Renault than a SUV explorer. I think because they are just different, cool looking, sturdy and maybe good on gas. It is funny, but the US car companies are trying to design more fule effeciant cars. Why don't they just look at countries like Colombia that already have these. I see so many cars and trucks in Colombia that I have never seen before. Even companies like Toyota have a four door small truck, this is not in the US. Also many cars and trucks in Colombia have stick shift, rather than automatic. That is the way to go. My dream someday is to go to Colombia, buy a Chiva and big car trailer full of Renault and drive back to the states. jajajaja If anyone has a Renault for sale in the US, let me know. Feliz Dia

aztec says on Feb 5, 2007, 14:44: kat1, LPG is probably the way of the future. But I have to tell you I had a friend get killed by one of those tanks. He had one installed in the trunk of his auto. Those thing are highly flammable and one must take extra caution.

Even VW has discontinued their fast little TDI of which I own(turbo diesel) as of 2006. No economic logic,,, "Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas?
