I live with a Colombian god and im still board help!

My problem is fairly minor in the scheme of the worlds latest events. But ill give it a shot. Ive been in Colombia 4 mths and i have seen alot, Honda, Melgar, the old part of Bogota and the flash bits and the drab bits, The coin mint art museum (Awsome! can i move in there?), a night out at Andrea´s de Carne and a trip to Medellin.

My problem is that my Colombian man is concerned for my safety and won´t let me out alone. Id love to explore on my own one day, but my only solo outings are only to the gym which is 50meters down the street. i admit my spanish is terrible, but i only learn it from the manicure lady! once a fortnight.

My freedom isnt limited Im just never allowed to be out alone, the lack of independence makes me feel like im choking sometimes and I lash out at my lovely man. i feel terrible he´s not a control freak and hes not over possesive, he just wants to take care of me.

Things i would have done spur of the moment when I lived in Sydney that may have lead to new friends or discovery of a great hang out are just not happening.I was a total cafe queen in Sydney and I made alot of friends that way.

Help! MTV and the Arts channels and E -entertainment true hollywood story are becoming my new best friends.....and im not usually so culturally challenged!

I had an idea, i can´t affoard to study at the moment, but maybe I can volunteer at an orphange or womens shelter anyone have some info? I could teach Yoga to the women or Art to the kids.

I tried to write this before and it didnt come up, so if this goes up twice....sorry.
