Thanks to PBH, I've learned so much about Bogota! I feel like I've been there already! 31 days and counting...
My girlfriend has been quite impressed with what I tell her. Just to name a few:
1. prepago mujeres
2. Sin Tetas No Hay Paraiso
3. Joropo
4. Estratos (if you drive a car you're from 4-6?)
5. los discotecas
6. ATM
7. common phrases (I didn't tell her about the bad words I learned. And there were many I wouldn't know when or how to use them.)
8. travelling by car, bus, or plane out of Bogota (although my gf always refer to el burro que me espera)
9. Colombianas y gringos (don't worry, I don't believe everything I read)
10. what to bring if I ever move there
11. it rains a lot in Bogota
12. plastic surgeries are cheaper
13. salsa big in Medellin
14. how to take a cab
15. where to buy food
There's more but this is the gist of what I can remember in one sitting. Again, I don't believe everything I read...I'm entertained and amused by all of you mainly. So I will not have any preconceived notion and/or judgments of Colombia and the people. I'll be travelling with a very open mind, alert and blend in as much as I can.
Just maybe....maybe a little voice in me will say, "I told you so" here and there...thanks PBH!

Gator says on Mar 23, 2007, 19:45: FYI, Here Are The Estratos In The .... Entire neighborhoods may not be one single estrato-Chico Norte, and others, have areas that are classified as 4, 5 and 6. Where I live, Los Rosalas, has both 5 and 6 areas. Thes are the general barrios in the Chicó area. Estratos 4's-5%, 5's-25%,6's-70% and about 60%residential "Brevior Sltare Cum Deformibus Mulieribus Est Vita!" . |
