I have three main questions for you!

I have three main questions for you!

1. Can someone tell me why there is so much sensationalism here? Please someone tell me I want to hear why you spend so much time looking for articles or news about the guerrillas, Chavez or now the war? What’s in your mind? What’s your gain?
2. Can someone tell me what is the infatuation with Chavez and guerrillas? I really do not see the point of visiting a site about Colombia where all you see is recycled news from the media.
Yeap, it’s very easy and it’s a brave act for cyber individuals to invoke war between two countries instead of peace because he or she does not have the slightest idea of the consequences of a major war.
3. Can someone tell me what would happen if this website would shutdown? What would the pbh reporters on war/guerrillas and Chavez do? Would they develop an acute sign of depression since they would not be able to post their routing news? Or would they join the Herald News or Fox News or any major network in their city to make up for their lost?

What’s in your mind? What’s your gain? What do feel you would accomplish if you continue to post recycled news from your favorite news network about your idol/guerrilla? Or if you continue to post about your fears or about the infatuation with the ongoing Colombian drama or the novel idea of a possible large scale war.
If this drama would turn out into a war, I want you to know that it won’t be between two South American countries down there! And by the way, old farts, women and kids will be part of the largest war of the century!

You do not realize that the more publicity you are given them the better for them, even if your are posting negative publicity! Really, if your intent is to show every one here the hatred you feel against them, you are defeating your goal because you are actually doing them a favor!

Refusing to discuss the news about Colombia on a forum about Colombia is a great idea.

It's hard to avoid running into extremists in sites like this. It's unfortunate how a few people here just attack others personally when they run into a wall of truth preventing them from saying something constructive. Please attack ideas. Not the people who carry them.

"Refusing to discuss the news about Colombia on a forum about Colombia is a great idea" -sarcasm

Discuss all ya want - keep the cut and pasted articles where they came from. If you have no ideas of your own or nothing to contribute it becomes tired after a while seeing article upon article. This is NOT and has never been a NEWS CONTENT website.

When you ask an article poster to expand on a personal level their views you get another article as a response. WE have too many robots here searching for articles, buying into media frenzy and sensationalism like sheep.

Why not come up with an idea to discuss and then post about it and then support it with QUOTES from articles and links.

Insead of looking for articles and coming back here and starting a thread which is nothing more than the pasted article.

MODS - howabout a section called - PASTED NEWS ARTICLES (for people too lazy to come up with their own content)

britabroad says on Mar 3, 2008, 09:24:

Don´t know about the rest of you, but here in Colombia the present situation is the most important thing in the news, is pretty scary/exciting (depending on how you look at it) and could affect the lives of many, if not all, Colombians, Venezuelans, Ecuadorians, and ex-pats who live here. There are also serious international conotations to take into account.

The majority of threads regarding the present situation reflects it´s magnitude. The comments therein reflect the thoughts, fears, worries and hopes of the PBH community. War is a pretty serious event in anyones books, and the PBH library will be a great source of material in the future for those interested in looking back to the build up of any such event.

Would a website for ex-pats or visitors to Iraq not mention what was actually going on there?
Those planning on visiting Colombia later this year, for example, might be interested to know if they´re entering a war zone, no?

Leave the big stick at home...carry a cannon!

Mononoke28 says on Mar 3, 2008, 09:27:

The Colombian side of PBH is a forum about... yeah you guessed it, Colombia.

A lot of of people gather here to talk about bs and others to talk about what is happening in Colombia.

I don't see why that is so hard to understand.

The more you post about that stuff the more you are helping them, I cannot make it any easier for you.

Monpirri says on Mar 3, 2008, 09:41:

We are not supposed condem anybody because we only know what sensationalism feeds you or us. There are two groups here: one group wants war or massive bs and there is the other group.

I am condemning both countries for the reaction they took over this terrorist, they should have supported us no making all this stupid fuzz and one minute silent for this bastard, that was an insult to the Colombians , I don't believe we will go into a war, I personally don't want a war but if they are really harboring those terrorist i want the international community to do something about.
