I guess you could call it "Speeding on the HIGH Way!"

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) - A truck loaded with cocaine flipped after taking a curve too fast, spilling nearly a ton of the drug across a Colombian highway.

Police said the drugs were hidden in the truck’s walls and roof, which ripped open Thursday when the vehicle overturned in Medellin, 155 miles north of the capital, Bogota.

The driver escaped injury but was quickly arrested.

Police said the cocaine was destined for the northern port of Uraba, a major exit point for Colombia’s massive drug smuggling industry.

I can just see everyone out at the scene of the wreck, noses down on the pavement sniffing it up their beaks.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

Cockney! Was wondering where you've been. Haven't seen you in a while (I actually hope you are who I think you are or I'll look like a real shmo, you're from Armenia, right?)

With apologies Bufalo as I wouldn't want anyone to look a shmo but no, you have me confused with someone else.

There was a lower case cockneycolombian around, though I believe he changed his name to avoid confusion, perhaps he's your Armenian?

Hilarious Note to self: If ever hiding a TON of anything, don't put it in the roof of a moving vehicle. See, "High center of gravity" in the truck owners manual.

Cockneys are Londoners who were born and live in the East End (corresponding to the area of the City of London where the original Roman settlements were first founded). To be a Cockney one has to be born within the sound of Bow Bells, so I am actually cheating as I'm from the other side of the river!

Quite possibly While the police were dealing with the truck driver, the wreck, and the perico on the road, six other trucks, fully loaded with the same freight, were deadheading free and clear to Uraba.

I'll bet that bastard was dealing with drugs, traqueros, narcotraficantes. He probably had it coming and deserved what he got, yada, yada, yada. His parents sucked, too.

I'm waiting now, for the next report... 'blew the tires, on the turn, which were...loaded with cocaine...'

a whole new meaning to the term: BLOW

Where do we go from here?

If the police/press reported a ton.... ...I'm guessing the truck was loaded with quite a bit more. By the time passing motorists, police, etc. got through loading the trunks of THEIR cars, I imagine half was gone.

Small wonder it flipped!

I think Miguel is right.....let the cops deal with a sucker load of coke so they can get the other 100 trucks through while the authorities are "scooping" up the evidence with their rolled paper pesos.....
